A lot of people these days don't place much respect on others for their opinions and beliefs, so self-centered and caught up in their ideology of the truth that they have been told growing up they are blind to how things really are in the world.
As long as things continue the same and no one stands up to quell the submissive nature everyone has, there will never be any change in the future of Humans.
To me, it looks like people preach so much about how jesus was crusified to forgive everyone of their sins, then ask continuously why people still sins (while disrespecting other people's beliefs and opinions is itself a sin in the eyes of their god), that the whole reasoning for jesus dying was all in vain.
If there ever was to be a second coming, then I'd be inclined to think that it really would be soon to show everyone that they are blindsided of understanding.
It wouldn't even take a second coming for that, even just one person willing to stand up like what jesus was supposed to have done in the bible and willing to die to bring understanding to even one person would be enough to start a spiritual change in everyone.
Is everyone in the world today just so naive and blind that no one can live a balanced life not caring what other people believe, and feel it is their right to slander anyone else for their sexual orientation, religion, race, beliefs, thoughts, opinions, lifestyle, when they themselves are even as near perfect or devout religious-wise as they think?

Wynter Ravyn brings up some key points one should think about, and even though I'm also Pagan (Wiccan) and know little of the bible and what is tought, I seem to understand a lot more than some people who have grown up and base their life around it.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong in their beliefs, just that those who chose to slander someone merely for the fact they disagree with their opinions should take a step back and ask themselves why they are really getting worked up - if they are so secure in the knowledge that their faith is the right one for them, it doesn't matter what anyone says to persuade you from living honestly and without an oppressive disposition.

I reckon people like to give kudos and accolades to ones who share their own opinions. Maybe they need to have their opinions and/or thoughts verified by someone anonymous . . . ??? Maybe they need confirmation that someone else sees things their way . . . ??? Maybe it is a buddy and they are helping them get the extra bonus points for answering, LOL. Who knows???
Why do folks on the 'net get so angry over virtual words on screens in groups, chats, and message rooms, etc., when they don't even know the face behind the words . . . ??? I always get a good chuckle from flamers, 'cuz they get so mad over something that they could just click-off and walk away from. It's not like they have to sit there and take it, as if it was a lecture from a parent or something, LOLOLOL.
By the way, I'm not atheist, either, I'm Pagan ((Wiccan--no specific tradition at the moment)).
Blessed Be, Wynter Ravyn.

This often seems to happen with subjective questions (politics, religion, etc.) where there is no right or wrong answer. Call it validation, but the asker probably just likes to have their ego stroked. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But perhaps some askers aren't very deep, or have formed an alliance with friends to just vote them as Best Answer -- I've seen some pretty weak answers voted best by the asker.

Because most people do not have the courage to acknowledge or accept a good answer if it does not agree with their beliefs. Most people are out here to prove that their belief is best so they will look for answers which promote or validate their own beliefs.

Because they like the answer.. Don't you like people that agree with you..
The best answer is the opinion of the asker and he would be really dumb to pick an answer that he thought was wrong.
Would you be the judge in a beauty contest and pick someone that you thought was ugly?? Your opinions are your opinions and you choose what you think..

Take it easy, not everyone will like your answers, but no need to poke fun at others choices.
It may have been they were not paying attention, they liked what that person said 'aside from "I agree" ', or maybe they just are having fun, like hopefully most of us are and I ask you, dude, start having fun, and don’t worry about who gets Picked for "best answer".
Right? and yes no google used, LOL

I'm just here for the exercise of answering questions. Who asks you anything, out there? NOw, that I have been roasted on my own pitard, by a question that I asked (hah, I can drink any of you under the table!)
This is the way communication is faulty. Since you noticed it, perhaps catch yourself when your doing it. I just gave a thumbs up to all my drinking buddies)...lolol!@@#$@#

Maybe they want to know if there are other believers out there, who are studying the scriptures. It is nice when you find a fellow christian who is on fire for the Lord! And it also gets God's word out, which is always good.

It's because some people simply want a biased answer and aren't interested in anything that anybody who doesn't agree with them has to say.

The OP wasn't really asking a question, but merely looking for someone to agree with his point of view.
