Do you like to learn about vastly different cultures or religions from an educated non-biased point of view?

Do you ever try to look at everything you believe from an outside viewpoint?

Do you wonder what's important in our lives and what's not?

Would you be willing to risk vastly changing your beliefs to find your own truth?

It seems like every time I see a Christian on T.V. or in a movie, they are always these hate filled southerners that are secretly terrible people. And judging from the Christians I know, this is not true, They are welcoming people. What do you think about Christians in movies and T.V. If you dont think Christians are protrayed In that way, then please give an example. Serious answers only please.

I don't agree, but let me assume for now that I do agree it is, so what? What did Christians just accomplish in this? Doesn't mean that magically we're wrong or some alternative thinking. Also, you're trying to saying that the "faith" in not believing in god is like saying the the "faith" in not believing in Big Foot is the same as believing in him.

Okay, I have met with missionaries numerious times and lived with Mormons for two weeks and gone to church a bit.
I want to know why people think the church is true and it's not out of disrespect. I just know that alot of Mormons are really offended whenever I quote the Bible. How is asking a question from the Bible anti if the Church is true and the Bible is true? And why is it that every Mormon's testimony sounds the same. It's boring. A Christian testimony is suppose to be about how God has removed you from sins you use to commit. At least I thought. Does anybody have any touchy Mormon stories they want to tell. I have a few of my own because I've tried believing the church and have gotten blessed in some radical ways but I'm still really stubborn because of the things the Bible says. Also, How do I know tithing isn't witch craft to get those blessings? I'm close to getting kicked out of church for quoting the Bible and I need help.

Older folks tend to always tell me "you don't fear god," but it sounds stupid if your god is merciful. Is there some "hebrew" meaning to the word fear they're using? (usually when things sound bad to christians; like god saying he takes pleasure in seeing you suffer when you don't obey his law; the words magically turn to some hebrew meaning that is the complete opposite).

Why do some of you insist we are so oppressed because we cover our beauty? Did some of you ever think that maybe we were tired of being valued on how small our waists are or how big our chests are? I have not met a single muslim woman who was forced to wear the veil, and I've been to Pakistan and Kuwait. In Pakistan, they walk around, heads uncovered, and some wearing tight salwar kameezes (long shirt and pants). Is it too much to ask you to look at us with an open mind and to let go of the stereotypes?

I just read the answers of atheists explaining evolution.

Atheists talk about Christians be closed-minded, and only giving answers from Scriptures, and the Bible is Bull, And How can we believe what we read from the Bible, you know all the negative stuff we read in their answers & questions.

After I read their answers all I could say is,

WHAT????????

Most who answered, their answers were not even their own thoughts, Maybe from books?????

They tell us we are brainwashed, most of their answers were the same

They deny the Word of God for blah, blah, blah, blah.

I'm sorry Atheists I don't buy it.
After reading that, you could never convince me of evolution.

PARIS (AFP) - The fossilised remains of an amphibian which lived more than 245 million years ago have been found in Antarctica, suggesting that the climate during much of the Triassic era was remarkably balmy.

The 60-centimetre (24-inch) piece of skull was teased out of thick sandstone at Fremouw Peak in the Transantarctic Mountains, just six degrees short of the South Pole.

Palaeontologists in Europe and the United States have identified the beast as a Parotosuchus, a two-metre-long (6.5-feet) giant salamander-like predator that lived 40 million years before the first dinosaurs, inhabiting lakes and rivers.

A member of the Temnospondyl group, Parotosuchus was covered in a scaly skin, unlike the smooth skin of modern-day amphibians, and probably moved with an eel-like motion in the water.

Previous Parotosuchus remains have been found in Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia and South Africa -- until now the most southerly part of their range.

Describe the last time you were shocked at the stinking smell of your feet. Was it a long day at work/school? Or did you just wear that one pair of shoes that smells like fritos?

P.S. Apparently my roomate (female) must not be aware of the frequency of the stench she emits in our apartment. Either that or she doesn't have a working nose.

I am graduating from community college in the fall and I have no idea what field of study I want to continue, I also have a million more things going on in my life. Well, everytime I talk to someone about it they always say "pray on it and god will guide you"..so I have been for the last 2 months and I have had nothing hit me in the head from heaven so, I just want to know has anyone ever prayed on something and got a sign or is this just something people say when they have nothing else to say.

Did I figure out why people keep asking why Atheists post on here?

Could it be those people don't understand why someone would possibly want to understand both sides, or even 100 sides of an argument?

Could the people who ask be the same ones who don't want to know anything that contradicts their religion, and cover their ears and go "LALALALA" when someone tries to say they have a valid reason to believe what they believe too?

Is that why people ask?

This is not meant to be a pro or anti religion question. I'm just curious to know what people mentioned in the Bible show up in other places. If possible, I would prefer people more significant that Rameses or Caesar. For example, are there hieroglyphs that mention Moses - that kind of thing.

For what it's worth, I have asked this question before but I only got two responses so I'm posting it again.

From what I've heard, Amish children are released into the outside world when they are 16. They have one week to decide if they want to stay or go. If they choose the outside world, they are forever banished from the Amish community. Is this true? Can someone explain why?

I often hear a crappy testimony from a Christian saying how Jesus Christ saved them and turned them from Atheism. However, their testimony is always (to my experience) something like the follow: 1) Typically there were "Atheists" at the age of 13 to 17. They were rebellious and disobeying their parents. Usually snorting or shooting up. or 2) they were adult business men who were just indulging in the world of "secularism" by living a life for money, job success and perhaps adultery. However, I have perhaps only met one Atheist ever who is into doing drugs or living an adulterous life. In 1 it simply sounds like normal teenage hormones kicking in and 2 it is just the stereotype that Christians like to portray about Atheist. Typically now that they're Atheists they magically have forgotten logic, Atheist arguments and have nearly no understanding of academic topics (like evolution) although most Atheists do. Seriously, what's this fad of Christians pretending they were once Atheists?

Not many Bible readers out tonight. You can find in the Book of the Exodus just when God tells us the Passover begins. That in the Old Testament. Go to the New Testament to find out how Jesus Christ became our Passover.
Don't let anyone tell you that the Passover is just for a certain group of people. Let the Word of God enlighten you to the Hidden Manna.
Many people go their entire life thinking that they are a Christian just becasue they go to a church. God is not in many of the churches of today. Religion is though.
Don't this this day go by without remembering what God did for us. His Word became Flesh and died for each and everyone of us a full payment. Time is about up and the Word is calling out to you.><>

Any music not of church choir, Any non-christian music, is actually the work of the devil. Somewhere on wikipedia. I also heard Lucifer played an instrument or was some sort of heavenly music person. But through the lies and deceit of music. He uses his influences on us. Since music is such a big part of soceity, he uses that as an ultimate tool to leer children away from christ. I believe some of that. What about you?

It is a undisputed scientific fact that DNA establishes unique personhood at the moment of conception. Abortion stops a beating heart.

Why should whether or not a child has the right to live be determined by their address and their inability to fight back against the cold blade of the abortionist?

This is not consistent with the fact that it becomes murder the minute that the child is born.

Evil people who believe that killing a child is ok because they claim that the world has too many children it it anyway never stop to ask why they believe they have a right to live but not anyone else.

Abortion stops a beating heart.
