I often hear a crappy testimony from a Christian saying how Jesus Christ saved them and turned them from Atheism. However, their testimony is always (to my experience) something like the follow: 1) Typically there were "Atheists" at the age of 13 to 17. They were rebellious and disobeying their parents. Usually snorting or shooting up. or 2) they were adult business men who were just indulging in the world of "secularism" by living a life for money, job success and perhaps adultery. However, I have perhaps only met one Atheist ever who is into doing drugs or living an adulterous life. In 1 it simply sounds like normal teenage hormones kicking in and 2 it is just the stereotype that Christians like to portray about Atheist. Typically now that they're Atheists they magically have forgotten logic, Atheist arguments and have nearly no understanding of academic topics (like evolution) although most Atheists do. Seriously, what's this fad of Christians pretending they were once Atheists?

bungyow - did you actively desbelieve god or did you simply just reject religion? There is a difference between being an Apatheist and an Atheist.

aa. - your link is retarded. One simply way to disprove it is by noticing that the argument assuming that the 1% or less that you know is not the knowledge that disproves god.

Marcus. Stop assuming that I a) have never spoken to a Christian, b) have never been one. Maybe instead of patronizing you should do some thinking.

I've wondered that before, but never found a way to put it into words that didn't sound like saying they weren't "True Atheists"....thus using the same lame logical fallacy that so many Christians use when talking about other Christians they don't agree with. I like your phrasing. I may steal it! :)

First let me state that there is no such thing as a perfect Christian. And any one who claims to be a perfect Christian is ignorant of the Word of God. Unfortunately some who call themselves Christians pick and choose certain verses taken out of context to justify there un Christian behavior. And I agree with you that some use the excuse that no one is perfect to justify their own sins, while judging and rebuking others. Do not be discouraged by the self righteous Hippocrates. No one has the right to judge you but God. If one truly studies what the Bible teaches concerning judgment on our part. We will realize the only person we have the right to judge is our selves. It is for God to judge others. The only way we are to judge others is whether we are going to emulate their actions or behavior as righteous or not. Let us leave all other judgments to God. We are told that God searches peoples hearts. We have no idea of what is in anothers heart. There for how can any one judge another. God bless

I just got off the phone with my friend Jessica. She was raised atheist and became a Christian in college through many discussions we had together. Next time I have dinner with her and her atheist parents and brother, I will make sure to tell them some random guy on the internet named Alucard (or something) thinks they are all liars.

Thanks for the report. Keep me posted on what else you find out about the lives of people you don't know.

Yeah, good point.

Their testimonies are bs.

You don't go from a state of logic to irrational thought, unless you received a lobotomy or brain damage.

I understand your frustration, but you should be grateful you haven't been subjected to most ex-Witch testimonies! Some of those folks have imaginations that rival Stephen King's!

i couldn't agree more, they always say they were living "materialistic" lifestyles, looking for happiness in money, sex, drugs etc. Any real atheist knows that stuff is crap to base your life on, that's why this thing called HUMANISM exists. If anything, this makes the atheists point for you: People believe in God because they want Him to exist, not because it makes sense that He does.

They lie about being a former atheist because lying for jesus is a sport with these people. You can tell they are lying because when you ask them about when they were an atheists, they say things that no atheist ever would.

Perhaps one day you will discover what happens in a person's life when they accept Christ and begin to live their lives for a purpose other than self-gratification. I think if you were to seriously talk with some of the people whom you choose to ridicule, you would find that they have not forgotten logic....instead they have discovered that human logic and understanding are flawed.

In the meantime, I'll keep you in prayer.

To be honest, I know people who were RAISED atheist who joined Christianity.

There are plenty of people (like myself) who were raised Christian, but realized it was all BS.

I think there is a combination of self-reflection (and peer-pressure) involved.

Many Christians accept evolution. I see no conflict in evolution and intelligent design
