Most Covens use a symbolic Great Rite with the Athame(knife) as a phallic symbol representing the God and a Chalice or Cauldron representing the womb of the Goddess. Some covens do the actual Great Rite (sex) which is consensual sex between the High Priest and High Priestess. Initiation does not involve sex with anyone. If you are being told this RUN!
Wicca is a religion and must be learned. It is something that can be in your nature meaning you are drawn to the religion of Wicca more so then other religions but it is something you must learn. With magic you can facilitate change good or bad but as a Wiccan we follow the rede of An it Harm none, Do what thy will, so we do not harm there is also the law of threefold return which means that whatever you send out whether good or bad returns to you 3 times good or 3 times bad and we prefer to have good come back to us.

1. There are few (and I mean VERY FEW) covens that actually physically practice the great rite. However, it is not, and should never be, a mandatory part of initiation. If the high priest insists that you have to engage in sex with him to be initiated, get out of the coven and don't look back. There are too many cases where people use Wicca (among other beliefs) as a cover to fulfill their own selfish desires.

2. I believe that someone may "feel right" with a certain religion but, study and practice are an essential part of every belief system. If anything it ensures that the practitioner won't merely be a blind follower of a given religion.

As far as willing the way of people and scenarios, I think you are talking about witchcraft and not Wicca. Wicca is the actual religion and witchcraft is a practice involving using ones will to facilitate change.

No, you do not have to participate in the Great Rite with anyone to become a Wiccan. If someone tells you so they are simply trying to have sex with you, and Wicca IS NOT about harming anyone, physically, emotionally, or financially.

Wicca is something you must learn, like any religion. You may have it in your nature (or you wouldn't be drawn to it, especially if you are moving from another faith), but that does not make you Wiccan. Wiccan is a way of life. Wicca is not just practicing magick. Some Wiccans practice magick, others don't. Just like not every Catholic is a priest. Some are just follow the faith.

You can not "will the way" of others and scenarios with magick. Wiccan rituals are no more supernatural than Catholic rituals are supernatural. If supernatural magic is what you seek then Wicca is not for you. It has nothing to do with the movies and television shows.

Wicca has its roots in Shamanism, the oldest recorded form of religion. Wicca is living in sync with nature and the natural order of things. Wiccan rituals honor the natural flow of life and work with it, instead of against it like some other religions.

Wiccan rituals pay honor to the God and Goddess. Magick is performed in these rituals in the same manner it is performed in Catholic services. Is not what the priest does over wine and bread to "change" it to the blood and body of Christ "magic" by any other term? Same with Wicca, but with different deities and ritual (services) tools.

I hope that helps a bit.

1st part of your question: No.
2nd part of your question: Wicca is a religion, so yes you must learn it to practice it.
3rd part of your question: The nature you're talking about is not Wicca. Again Wicca is a religion. A natural ability to unduly influence the world around you is a talent. It can be learned, but some people do it intuitively. If you have this talent, don't bother trying to tell anyone else about it, as they will not believe you. Just keep it to yourself, and use it to your advantage.

I would recommend you read books by Scott Cunningham http://paganwiccan.about.com/cs/wicca101/tp/aatpbeg_books.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Cunningham. I have never heard of the Great Rite but my friend is a sole practioner, not part of a coven. I believe it has always been in her nature but there were still things she needed to learn too. Anyone can take what they are and turn it into something good or bad...look at Catholic Priests that have been accused of child molestation. Then look at Wiccans who practice black magic primarily verses white magic. It depends on the intent of the person and his or her own conscious.

Nope! You don't have to do that!
When you get initiated, you just state that you will use your power for good, and you believe in yourself, and then you get a cord (you get the cord if you are part of a group)! But you don't need to be part of a group to be Wiccan! You can be a solitary! We practice alone! :D

Yes, it is something you must learn, and some people are born with natural talents that can be used in Wicca, such as healing! :D

And you must NEVER will anyone, do NOT cast magick on others without their permission! :D

Have fun! :D

Untrue, read up on the subject... never accept what is given to you at face value.

I don't know much about the religion, just enough to know that its a kinder and more accepting religion than christianity.

The Great Rite sounds like a scam to me.

edit-
I just read that the great rite is suppose to be preformed by the high priest and high priestess, its also suppose to be consensual.

OK No, the great rite is preformed between consenting adults and you dont have to do it to be initiated!
and no, you Must learn how to be a Wiccan, you dont know it by nature.
And NO, you cannot will someone to do something they dont want to, Free will and all.
That goes against the Laws of Magic!

No, absolutely not, and if anyone does tell you you need to have sex in order to get initiated, RUN!!!!

You can have a nature that is receptive to Wicca or Paganism in general, you can have psychic gifts, but yes, you need knowledge in order to apply yourself correctly. It's like having natural musical talent or the natural ability to shoot straight--you need discipline and an ethical framework.

You do not have to join a Coven or anything. You can practice the craft solitary (Alone). It is entirely up to you.

As for the sex thing don't make me laugh. That is just silly!

You know there are MALES that join Wicca!

A DUHH!!
