Why can I not choose to be a Baptist or a Pentecostal? If I choose to become a Muslim or a Hindu would I also be a Jew for Muhammad or a Jew for Krishna respectively?

PS - My self image is not based on other peoples view of me at all, this is just an attempt at gathering data.

When will this country wake up, and stand up firmly against these people.
Yet we continue to go on; perpetuating perverted life styles; illicit behavior, rampant sexual perversions. The results: uncontrolled atrocities like this.
It seems the further this country moves away from God; the more ungodly (atheist) acts like these we se. God help us.

Everyone on this forum was born hundreds of years after the enlightenment, but we still value the myths of our ignorant ancestors. I just don’t get it. Why is “faith” (i.e. belief without evidence) seen as an admirable quality? Furthermore, why would a God who gave us reason expect us to check it at the door of the church? How do we know that our religious books are true? Because the books themselves say so! These types of logic black holes are quickly drawing humanity to the brink of chaos. Why not believe that the earth is flat? If there is a God, then he gave me a brain that values evidence over blind faith.

hey dears,

when i was little ...i heard that you believe "the man came from monkeys" as the thoery of evolution claims...

and honstly i wondered about two things:
1-HOW can that thoery disprove the existence of god??

2-WHY should the evolution disprove it too?
why didn't it came to you as that god create the evolutions and then he order it to create the mountains and the skies ...?

As THE Living Word, the greatest commandment Christ imposed upon people was, ‘Love God with your whole heart, mind and soul and love your neighbour as yourself.” He even said that this commandment reigns supreme over ALL THE OTHERS and fulfils the entire Law.

So why do some Christians still want EVERYTHING spelled out for them- how to eat, how to dress, how to run their household, how to have sex, how to enjoy yourself. Is it not repeating the exact same mistake the Pharisees made in believing they can actually EARN God's love.

I thought the beauty of being a Christian means you accepted that was IMPOSSIBLE and God’s grace is a gift.

The apostles like pastors today, were just sinners see Rom 7, they argued among themselves a lot over doctrine. Peter often disagreed with Paul’s letters and said they are for those who are weak and unstable in their faith in 2 Peter 3:16. Why do some follow them like Christ and turn their opinions into a new set of laws to judge others with?

I notice a deep respect and admiration atheists have for wiccans, pagans, native american beliefs.....basically any non-christian religion. minor trash talking of islam, no mention of judaism, taoism, buddism, hinduism, etc. i know most of you jokes of human beings will say that you hate christians because you live in a christian-dominated nation, but this is a poor excuse and makes your movement look sad and irrelevant. and dont say that you dont hate christians because i've read my email. thanks for your "prayers"

I always hear christians say that since something is a theory it has no more basis than a piece of scripture. However, they are fundamentally different and have no comparison. Scientific method is defined as: "principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses"

Science does not claim to have all the answers and the reason for theory is so that ideas can be developed indefinitely. Theory has allowed us to travel to space, make computers, perform amazing medical feats and countless other great things. Yet SOME christians still discount theory as being something that was "made up". Usually these arguements stem from creationism vs. evolution. When you study both sides of the arguement, one has facts the other has no verifiable data. Where is the verifiable credibility in faith?

Are Christians worshiping the incredible shrinking god. I mean at one time it was supposedly capable of flinging thousands of billions of galaxies into existence with a mere thought. By the time of Noah, it was reduced to flooding an insignificant speck in the cosmos. By the time of Moses, its best trick was moving a tiny portion of a minor sea aside for a short while. By the time of Jesus, it has to send a delegate on its behalf who leaves behind only rumors that he was able to turn water into another beverage, or render himself extra buoyant. Today it counts as a miracle if a water stain grows mold that kind of looks like a bearded face which could be claimed to resemble this supposed delegate. How much more pathetic can this god get? How do Christians manage to sing praises of its glory and greatness without feeling like fools--or at best, like new parents gushing over their toddler's ability to make a wee-wee

when u die u mite go to hell right? no one goes to hell. This is hell. earth is hell. but everyone has to get out or its like everyone CAN get out
Life is fair too because murders die eventually... everyone dies eventually... but they come back as like .. obese people in their next life..thats like their punishment and like a stressed CEO.. who never has time for anything but has alot of money.. dies.. and comes back as a spoiled rotten rich kid.. get it?
its like a mix of buddishm and christianity.. god loves everyone he wants everyone to go to heaven but it may take lifetimes... the people who go to heaven are like .. the pope, etc... people who have a relationship with god and i mean like a best friend relationship with god.. i think life is like a game into heaven u have to learn.. how to get into heaven and u have more tries..
its like god made humans have the ability to become best friends with eachother.. and want to be together forever.. as an example of how u.. no more space

A friend's b/f died, or so we thought. He is in a high security work environment and apparently his 'death' was staged for security reasons. My friend was channelling, saying she was getting this/that message from him; that he was guiding her, etc. Is it possible to channel when the person was never dead? What, if anything was giving her these messages, or do you think they were just things she WANTED to hear? I'm very perplexed; don't believe in channelling, but my friend is very head-strong when it comes to this sort of thing. I think she truly needs counselling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
