Surely the technologys and industrys like mining and medicine that make use of these datings of the earth and evolutionary biology work and benifit ALL our lives

So why would god make us think one thing by the study of nature but tell us another through 2000+ year old profits?

Is god mis-leading?.

Islamic history (Sahih Bukhary) tells that prophet Muhammed kicked a complete tribe (Banu Nadir) out of their lands and he took over most of their possessions, lands , and money. His only reason was allegations that two men of that tribe were planning to kill him while visiting them to lend him money.

None of his companions, who were sitting with him, saw anything. Banu nadir also denied such an allegation. The only ground that prophet Muhammed had to kick them out was his own allegations, which he said was revealed from god.

My questions are:

(1) even if those two men were trying to kill him (although nobody saw them, even his own companions), was the punishment supposed to be for the whole tribe?

(2) what was the reason to take over their lands, properties and money?

I hope if anyone wants to answer to give me a short answer right to the point. No copy-and-paste please.

I never realized the world was so evil, til I came on this site. So many people who will never come to know the love of Christ. Blinded by science, misunderstanding the Bible, and just not wanting to believe, so that there will be no God to serve or hell to pay. Each having their own desire not to have faith. I'm sure many would rather take the devil who would tell them "do as thy will" rather than God who commands us to love, and be holy. What is your answer?

Some of the most powerful people in the world at the moment (all from the USA) believe in the rapture.

They also reject the need to do something to stop climate change and think it's a good idea to mine previously untouched environments in a destructive fashion.

It seems they don't care a great deal about how the world is left for future generations.

Can this be justified?

A bishop in Liverpoool has decared that the recent murder of a black boy with an ice pick was a direct result of slavery, when slave owners used to hack slaves to death with axes as a warning to the others.

Really? I seem to remember that an ice pick was the preffered murder weapon of the Chinese tongs.

Is this idiot of a Bishop seriously suggesting that the killer, as a decendant of a slave owner, had decided to revive the custom, or that the unfortunate victim was pre-ordained to be killed in such a barbaric nature because he was decended from a slave?

Where do they find these lunatics?

Blaming our ancestors for todays woes is a cop out. What about all the British orphans of two world wars, do they go about whinging about the unfairness of it all.

Show me an apologist for slavery and you'll be showing me a an insignicant individual who is drawing attention to himself the only way he can - a loser.

My beautiful wife was just thrown out from our church! 'they' said it was because she was an inflatable doll, but I think she was being picked on because she never joins in with the hymn singing! we are now back at our council flat, she is so upset, I am sure I spotted a tear! A documentary on Freemasons stressed that they're just a secret society with no religious inclination whatsoever. In the documentary, a Muslim and a Christian Bishop also admitted that they are members. However, I've been told that Freemasons is a demonic cult and that they have weird rituals that contradicts the Christian faith.

Please clarify.

What would your answer be if He asked you,

An atheist here a few moments ago posted a question trying to make the stories in the Bible look foolish.

He said that he had a friend that got turned into salt (he made it sound like it happened just the other day) He asked if you believed him. He then said what if he told you that it happened three thousand years ago outside of Sodom and Gomorrah, would you believe him then?

I think that is so disrespectful and so typical of an atheist. When you don't have God in your life, I guess you lose all manners.

The stories in the Bible are all true. I know it's hard to believe but look at it this way. The Bible takes place over a period of over a thousand years so the miracles are spread out. Miracles happen today too. I knew someone who saw a ghost and I heard about another person who got their ear ripped off in an accident and they prayed and the ear reattached itself.

Miracles do happen and all the Bible stories are true. You just need faith. Agree?

I remember learning when I was a kid that Paul originally went around persecuting christians until one day God struck him down from his horse, gave him and a hard time about it and convinced him to spread his word.

Why hasn't he done that lately with modern day atheists?
