Have you ever wondered if animals go to heaven? I have been thinking about this a lot, and I came to the conclusion that animals have souls because the soul is the personality, and we all know that animals have different personalities. Check this scrip out which I found last night: "Ecclesiastes 3:20-22 (New King James Version)
All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth? So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his heritage. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

If an animal has a spirit, and if spirits never die, that means that perhaps animals go to heaven!

Centuries ago people thought the Earth was the centre of the universe and we were God's greatest creation.

Now we know that the universe is enormously large. Even our own galaxy is massive.

It takes two years just to get to the nearest planet.

And here we are, tiny creatures in the outskirts of a medium size galaxy.

If we're so important to God, why bother with the rest?

First I want to say that there ARE intelligent and mature people here but I’ve found hardly any of them. People who answered my questions intelligently or asked their own questions intelligently have my appreciation and respect even if they don’t have my agreement. But intelligence is a rare quality here indeed. My six months on this message board have been a great look at the human psyche. I've learned from all the inaccurate answers here that it's natural for people to talk like they know what they're talking about when they don't know jack. I've learned from the abuse and narrow-mindedness of many people here that most people don't think for themselves but go with the flow and that flow is political correctness.

I am 100% pro-female. They are beating the men in shear numbers regarding education, they could take over the world. I for one, think we should all submit to our new estrogen enfused overlords.

JK but really, I like woman a lot and hope the culture shift in the states continues. Agree? Would Jesus (just to keep it religious)?

I ask this because while I can, up to a point, respect a belief that the Bible is the word of God, you surely have to concede that the Word has to be a matter of interpretation, because all texts lose something in the translation. So what worries me is where fundamentalists take the Bible literally, based on the English translation. Thus my question: what language do they think the Bible was written in and do they accept that the shades and nuances of meaning can be corrupted during translation?

Q: Why are atheists here?
A: They want to discuss the same topics as everyone else.

Q: What is the best religion?
A: Whichever one works for you spiritually and helps you be a good person. That includes the option of "none," too.

Q: My religion is the best.
A: That's nice. Was there a question?

Q: Pascal's wager?
A: *drink*

Q: Doesn't it take faith to believe in evolution?
A: It takes faith to believe in anything, and people who are proponents of evolution say it is proven, not a matter of faith.

Q: You're going to hell!
A: Oh no. Was there a question?

Q: Why is this or that religion outdated?
A: If it doesn't work for you, don't follow it.

Q: This other religion is really weird, isn't it?
A: It all depends on how you look at it. Why not try to look at it from their eyes?

Q: Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, Wiccans, Pagans, and/or followers of C'thulhu are really dumb, don't you think?
A: Your question is less informed than they.

Add your own!

I think the world is going to Hell in a handbasket. There are no more morals anymore. People think that homosexuality is okay and people are having sex outside of marriage. There are also more atheists, which doesn't make sense to me, because if there is no God, then what's the point to living? You need Christianity to stop you from doing bad things. You need things to be inherently bad.

I'm convinced that at least half of all the people alive today will go to Hell. You have atheists and agnostics, and homosexuals, and Hindus, and other people who aren't Christians, and murderers, and adulterers, and rapists, and drug addicts, etc. The list goes on and on...

Isn't that depressing?

I wish we could go back to the good moral values of the 50's and 40's. People lived right back then. Evolution wasn't taught in as many schools and people didn't look down at authority as an automatically bad thing.

Don't you agree?

Bible wants to kill adulterous population of Bible Believers. Adulterous population has substantial ratio in Bible Believers.
Revelation 2:22-23
"Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."
If anyone thinks Biblical Jesus represents only a peaceful loving soul, then think again. For an act of adultery, Bible would kill innocent children for the adultery of others; hardly fair justice, love, or the concern for human beings.
Some apologists claim that "children" refers to the followers of a cult of Jezebel and not to children birthed from Jezebel. However, if this proved the case, the situation would appear even more horrific, for a cult of believers could number in the dozens, hundreds, thousands, or millions

This R&S section seems to be mysteriously full of them! If I were an atheist, I would have absolutely no interest in coming on here.

Misunderstandings and misconceptions, not to mention intentional propaganda to discredit religions or religious beliefs, just make matters worse.

I feel that many atheists take things out of context, and then teach that to others as "facts." Their students then barge into religious discussions thinking that they are wise, when in reality they just look like impetuous fools to everyone. They tell everyone off, and then leave, thinking that they just enlightened everyone, or at least disrupted their discussions (and believe that this is somehow wise because the religious "deserve" it).

I have little interest in some things, and I don't think you will see me going to that section and disrupting it. In theory, should not atheists have little interest in anything religious or spiritual?

Rationally, if we assume that a woman has a right to her body, and may decide the fate of her fetus; what would be a moral objection to her chosing to abort it and giving her fetus to me to use in foods?

If a woman has a right to her own reproductive choices, what would be wrong with her employing herself by repeatedly getting pregnant to provide me with this food?

We are assuming she has a right to her body. We are also not using any divinely revealed moral systems, only rational ones. YOur disgust has no bearing as you cannot impose your asthetics on another rightfully.

Assuming we assure a disease free fetus, and the food will only be served well marked to those requesting it, is there any possible objection to this process?

Do you think in the next 100 years, the percentage of people that are atheists will go up or down, or do you think it will stay about the same?

Please note that I'm talking about what you think will happen and not what you would like to happen.

Let us keep our arguments only rational. If I start a company that pays the living to will me their bodies upon passing naturally, so that I can process them into food for those consumers who would be attracted to the novelty or taste; what can be morally wrong with that?

It being disgusting is not an argument as you do not have a right to deny others their choices because of your asthetic principles. The surviving relatives emotions are also irrelevant, as the living person has made a conscious choice that I should recieve their body.

Let us assume I process the bodies so the food is safe and nutritious.
