Who 's to decide whether our deed are good or bad ; no one is a saint then why this hypocrit . I think no one has the right to decide what's right and what wrong for someone else . When we cann't see our own back how can we judge other. And if you say GOD do the decision ---then who will do for him ...cause there is only some one ontop of anyone..i think even God

Alot of people have been having a fuss about video games lately - "They're evil, they're depriving our youth of their innocence, blah blah blah" - So what do you think? Safe or unsafe? Is a guy who played Halo going to gun down an old lady in the parking lot or not?

hey dears

Suppose you found a watch in the middle of the desert. What would you conclude? Would you think someone dad dropped the watch? Or would you suppose that the watch came by itself? Of course, no sane person would say the watch just happened to emerge from the sand.

All the intricate working parts could not simply develop from the metals that lay buried in the earth. The watch must have a manufacturer. If a watch tells an accurate time, we expect the manufacturer must be intelligent. Blind chance cannot produce a working watch. But what else tells accurate time? Consider the sunrise and the sunset. Their timings are so strictly regulated that scientistscan publish in advance the sunrise and sunset times in your daily newspaper, but who regulated the timings of sunrise and sunset? If a watch cannot work without an intelligent maker, how can the sun appear to rise and set with such clockwork regularity? Could this occur by itself? Consider also that we benefit from the sun only because it remains at a safe distance from the earth.

A distances that averages 93 million miles. If it get much closer, the earth would burn up. And if it got too far away, the earth would turn into an icy planet making human life here impossible. Who decided in advance that this was the right distance? Could it just happen by chance. Withuot the sun, plants would not grow. Then animals and humans wouls starve. Did the sun just decide to be there for us? We need to experience sunrise. We need the sun energy and its light to see our way during the day. But we also need sunset. We need a break for the heat, we need the cool of the night and we need the lights to go out so we may sleep. Who regulated this process to provide what we need?

Moreover, if we had only the warmth of the sun and the protection of the atmosphere we would want something more-beauty. Our clothes provide warmth and protection, yet we design them also to look beautiful/knowing our need for beauty, the designer of the sunrise and the sunset also made the view of them to be simply breathtaking. The Creator who gave us light, energy, protection and beauty deserves our thanks. Yet some people insist that He does not exist. What would they think if they a watch in the desert? An accurate and working watch? A beautiful designed watch? Would they not conclude that there does exist a watchmaker. One who apperciates beauty. Such is God who made us.

When Jesus was on the Cross he told the theif next to him that they would walk together in paradise that day.
However after his death we are told Jesus did not ascend to heaven for 40 more days, in fact was "dead" for three days.
So what do we make of this? Was Jesus not fully informed?
How could he get this so wrong if he is part of the Trinity?
If you are going to answer that this "paradise" was somewhere other than heaven why is the existance of this important place not mentioned elsewhere?

Specifically it looks as if Jesus was mistaken and was not fully informed. (IMHO an easy human mistake to make). How does this sit with him being the same as God?

How do you feel when we repeatedly speak out, but after seeing this, those who were complaining that we don't act like it never happened and demand again that we speak out? If you think it's wrong, post. Everyone knows I'm a muslim woman, proud of it, and would defend it with my life, but I also know that killing innocent people is wrong. So, for those of you who are with me, say so! Islam is the religion of peace, and it's been hijacked by heartless idiots out to harm everyone, including us muslims.

Why not you incorporate gospel of Barnabas in bible? We Muslims believe that gospel of Barnabas is free from interpolation and mischief. O Christians, is there no place of pure gospel in your bible???

Ever noticed that, there are theists who believe in evolution,

and yet there's no such thing as an atheist who doesn't believe in evolution.

And yet some theists claims that they value "truth".

No offence to those methodist and baptism who read this...

the Memorial of the Last Supper and of the death of Christ on the right day rather than the more convenient new weekend? It's not as if we don't know what day it is. The day has been observed as the Jewish Passover for 4000 years, which falls on sunset of the first full moon after the vernal equinox. The Jews used the lunar calendar, which hasn't changed since its beginning. So, what do they have against the observance and against Christ by ignoring it.

Please, no comments that they get bigger donations and the like by making it more of a party atmosphere. I'm sure churches can easy survive without special reasons for donating.

I won't accept, "because it was inspired by God" as an answer. That's the whole point. If that's what you think, then why do you think that? What is your evidence?

And, yes, I've heard of Lee Strobel's book, and don't find it convincing.

Okay, I'm hoping I'm going to get well thought out, complete answers here:
Why all the anger and hostility in this space? I understand that most people here have their beliefs one way or the other, but why do so many post post purposefully inflammatory questions and answers? What is it about religion and spirituality that gets the religious so defensive and the secular so vicious? I've seen some level-headed answerers here, but the majority seem to be downright mean.
Please, don't spout Bible verses at me or talk to me about Darwin. I'm not stupid, I understand where everyone's coming from, I just don't get why discussions here have to be so hostile. A while back, someone threatened to kill a guy (a post I reported to Yahoo Answers). This person may have been joking, but that's clearly not appropriate.
SO: What do you feel makes religion and spirituality so contentious, and why the hostility and ignorance towards any culture but your own (this includes everyone, even atheists!)?
