I came up with this wager to all theists, tell me what you think when I'm done.

In all religion, God advocates us to love and respect each other.

Though I've seen a lot of people hurting others emotionally, physically or anything else that would trouble people, all in the name of God or claim it to be God's will, or the truth.

So here's my wager, instead of fighting for God, why not spread love and respect instead?

If you're fighting for God, how do you know that really is God's will? What if you got it wrong? What if your actions would displeases God?

If you spread love and respect, live in harmony and tolerance, God would love that. You have nothing to lose, don't you think?

So why not accept this wager of mine?

Do they think it makes them look clever?

Do they think their trashy cut & paste from some silly "christian science magazine" cuts it against vast libabries of proof of evolution accepted by the overwhelming bulk of the global scientific community?

I know men rule the world and have written all the holy books now. But what about before then, didn't women have a role? Weren't there statues of goddesses that were once worshipped more than men? Why are the women being revered now for having the gift of bearing children, for creating life? Why are we forced to be submissive? I just don't understand why women in religion are considered weak.

"Sexual orientation begins with a myriad intertwining influences - some genetic, some hormonal and gestational in the mothers uterus, some the product of cultural conditioning. The mix for any individual is impossible to unpick. No one acquainted with the science can still believe that homosexuality is a choice or a disorder. It is part of normal human variation, just like traits such as height or intelligence."
(Mark Henderson Science Editor of The Times reporting on Anthony Bogaert's research Brock University Canada.)

If so, I want to tell you that this is the wrong goal for your life.
All I and God want of you is that you be good, and thereby earn peace and happiness. Don't hurt others, and help them when you can. If this leads you to hell, then the fires cannot hurt you, because you will have the peace of knowing you did the right thing. Doing good will not lead you to hell. But if you are only doing good so that you may get to heaven, then when you get there, you will have no peace, because you did not do good for the sake of loving others.

I know this is probably a really stupid question but we all have an idea that when people die they go to heaven.
(good people anyway).
People have been going to heaven forever but do they stay there?

Do they move on to another place to make room for new people going into heaven?

Until very recently, people tended not to fall out with one another if they discovered that they held different views about religion.

There were three main reasons for this.

Most believers did not brandish their faith publicly, society had become increasingly secular in most major respects, and memories of the past's murderous religious factionalisms had bequeathed a reluctance to revive the problem. The latter's lingering consequences in Northern Ireland anyway served as a distasteful warning.

But all the major religions have become more assertive, more vocal, more demanding and therefore more salient in the public domain.

The other day I saw a ''Honk if you love Jesus'' bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance followed by a thunderous prayer meeting,so I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper. Boy, am I glad I did! What an uplifting experience that followed! I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord, and how good He is... and I didn't notice that the light had changed. It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed! I found that LOTS of people love Jesus! Why, while I was sitting there, the guy behind me started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, ''For the love of GOD! GO, GO!! Jesus Christ, GO!!'' What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus! Everyone started honking! I just leaned out of my window and started waving and smiling at all these loving people.
