I know this is probably a really stupid question but we all have an idea that when people die they go to heaven.
(good people anyway).
People have been going to heaven forever but do they stay there?

Do they move on to another place to make room for new people going into heaven?

John 14
1 "Do not be worried and upset," Jesus told them. "Believe F28 in God and believe also in me. 2 There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. F29 3 And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am.

There are many rooms and surely a God who created the world for so many people can easily create a bigger place for any number to stay :) ..

How much space does a soul take? If heaven is a higher plane of existance, who says that space is even an issue. I do not believe that heaven could ever get crowded, but thats just me. Could Heaven just be another form of life where things are generally better, but the situation is the same? If you're a good person and believe in God in heaven do you go on to the next Heaven?

Nope, Heaven is huge, the planet Heaven is one large city and the planet it's self is about the size of the Sun so theres plenty room for billions more. So dont fret about not getting a room with a view, you could even be luicky and get river Styx flowing past the pearly gates

Hell on the other hand is a wee pocket of humanity about the size of a small village so not much room in there to swing a cat anymore

Not everyone believes that you go to heaven when you die. If that was the case, you have no resason to live a righteous life for the Second Coming of Christ.

Man was made from the Earth and returns to the Earth. If you went to heaven after you died, why oh why would there be burials and cremations?

When righteous people "go to heaven", it simply means that their names are written down in The Book of Life and they will be among the first to ascend to heaven on that Day.

Good question.
Remember the is no accoount in the Bible of normal human beings going to heaven when they die. Elijah did not see death when he went to Heaven he was translated, Moses was taken up to heaven because Satan wanted his bones-God had to protect him.
When we die we are in a deep sleep. See 1 Corinthians 2 where Peter says even David is in his grave.

The truth is that we will be resurrected when Jesus Comes, how can you be resurrected if you already in HEAVEN!!

But to answer your question heaven does have enough space for us if we are resurrected in Jesus Christ no matter how many the number! Please see the following website for clarity on this and other issues. You be the Judge

I remember hearing a story on what the Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) said about an argument between heaven and hell.

Heaven and hell argued on who will get the most inhabitants, God intervened and said "you'll both get your fair share."

We can't measure the space in heaven and hell, because geographic laws are different outside of Earth. There'll be plenty of room in heaven. We as Muslims believe that there's 7 and they're enough to fill the whole of humanity since the first man to the last man on Earth.

why???
because only good people can go to heaven
and out of every 100
there is at most 1 "good" person

according to catholic teachings, there is also a place called 'pergatory' where the not so good go to while waiting for their fate to be decided, some make it to heaven, the rest are sent to hell! if that's anything to go by, then my guess is that there must be some other place that people go to when they've spent enough time in heaven...
