Are you speaking of human death ? If so, than my interpretation of 'death' is when the current journey of this lifetime is done and the soul releases from the human body. While I don't wish myself dead anytime soon...I also do not fear death...as what is on the 'other side'...It's magnificent...And, I not speaking of 'heaven'...it's the soul experience and journey of that timeless place that I'm speaking of...To be in the Now of the 'other side' is stunning, powerful and PEACEFUL.

There is also a 'death' that can occur before a person has physically died...that is a feeling of deep emptiness and is a prison on earth to be living. To be aware of that type of death is an experience one can escape. The escape of that is being a hero in your own life...to rescue your own self by seeing that dim spark of LIFE still glowing within you and 'blowing' on that dim 'ember' to bring it to full life again is very powerful.

Absolute complete extinction of both body and "soul". We are no more or less organic creatures than dust mites, even if our brains are a bit more complex. Without something to think with, there can be NO consciousness. I think it's kinda been proven since biblical times that it is brains that have thought complexes, nothing but minute electrical charges causing chemical reactions, creating and transferring enzymes and hormones, etc... not heart or blood or kidneys as cultures have thought and changed throughout history.
The idea of "souls" or "spirits" is an ancient misconception since long before medical science proven facts.
Your choice to alleviate whatever condition you suffer from: Educated physician, or chanting witch doctor with a stick of incense?! lol
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust", so the OT says. Hebrews / Judaists have never believed in an afterlife, even when that was written. (Christians, Catholics, Muslims are not Judaists. Neither am I but I did study up a few years ago.)
Nothing to fear; nobody knows the difference when they're gone. Just getting there might hurt a bit...
Until then, just enjoy the ride and don't worry about how it ends... :-)

I died standing up, outside on a very hot day. Everything fell away including my body. And I got to see what some call God, some call the Void. There are many names but it is beyond names. What caused this I don't know, I had started to meditate a year or so earlier. Any way, to make this short, this reality is only the dream of God. Everything is God. Time does not exist, no one is born of parents, it is also like a play. What we think we are is a lot closer to being emanations than creations. What dies is only a dream person, so everyone enjoy your dream there was never any imperfection only a case of mistaken identity. When I arrived back in my body everything came back into view, I walked around in amazement for days after ward that was almost 12 years ago but is still the most real experience of my life.

yes i believe that DEATH means the end of the body in its physical state. but not the soul. (which is WHAT AND WHO you are) after-all the body is just a vessel. i am a christian. my belief is you go to a better place. a heaven. what that place is and how it looks none of us will know...unfortunately no-one's been there and back to tell us. so i think Heaven is a place that you WOULD consider a heaven. but as far as death is concerned i dont think the soul dies along with your body....

your attention is the outer expression of your soul
when you die your attention along with your MIND leaves your aged and help less body as you do not know how to die before you live for ever.
your mind drags you as attention in to the past and future to settle the time related issues regarding actions and reactions you did while you three were together (AS SOUL ,MIND and BODY ) which you experienced in you life time like ego, lust, greed, anger, and attachments etc.

Here i will convey my feelings and belief that MIND is nothing but information of time regarding the experiances of life and ceaselesly keeps on draging the ATTENTION to the TIME related matters and puts it in to a body again and again till the time we gain freedom from MIND in a form of human BODY by aquiring knowldge how to get freedom from the bondages of mind to attaint the bliss full life everafter. To become the concious co worker of the divine plan to attain LOVE ,PEACE , HARMONEY and BLISS.

ATTENTION is intelligence and is part of absolute intelligence and a capable force (as GOD ) that runs the whole cosmos in its automation .

cessation of breathing,...... organs close down.

And thats about it.

Hearing bells and whistles,..... floating in mid air,.... or floatining up to heaven,.... is just a load of bullsh*t.

There's nothing dramatic or spectacular.
You just close your eyes and sleep

You crinkle your nose,.... wiggle your toes,... say BOO!,
and bob's your uncle.

Then it's back to rest with mother nature.... That's where we came,.... and that's where we return.

Heaven and harp playing angel's.
That's a load of cr*p......
