Why do you choose to have this relationship - Because it makes you happy or because you are afraid of going to Hell ?

Okay, so first I was talking about evolution.......and suddenly there was this Christian, he starts talking about some crap that looks like words but I don't think he was making sense, then he quoted the Bible, finally he told me I was a fool for being an atheist.

1> How the Hell did the topic on evolution lead to being an atheist?

2> If that Christian was so into Christianity to reject evolution, why did he so quickly to judge me as an atheist, because I'm not? Do not judge others?

3> Do you like pepsi or coke?

And therefore Heaven would really be Hell because there would not be good, there would just be existence.

You need evil to appreciate good.

Heaven is the real Hell!

There are some instances that arise in the natural world where some things don't seem to be too intelligently designed.

For example, the laws of optics dictate that our eyes actually see things "upside down" and our brain has to process the info to make it "right side up". I am a bit incredulous as how a designer that was intelligent enough to design entire organ systems, much less organisms, could make such an incompetent mistake like that.

Another example is the eyes of a mole. Moles live such a big percentage of their lives underground that they are often blind from the lack of use of eyes. Their eyes serve no purpose and yet they are still vulnerable to eye infections. What does this say about the intelligence of the designer?

There are many more examples I could list but I thought these were representative of the group.

how did that happen, and why don't jewish people (since sumerian tablets stories are similar to the old testament ones) and christians use them to teach-or do they accept that as fact? The history channel also did a special on this and one story mentioned Adam having a previous wife (Lillith) before Eve who had to be replaced by God because she was disagreeable towards him. Are these stories looked at as being false? If they were written before the bible's version, then why so? Why are they ignored?

One that doesn't rely on circular strawman reasoning like "if a watch has a maker, then everything else has a maker", arguments that result from a complete misunderstanding of evolution like "if humans came from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys", or arguments that take things out of context like "if scientists disagree on how evolution occured, than evolution itself must be false". There are many reasons why these arguments are easily shot down. Many complex things like snowflakes aren't directly created, but formed by natural processes. New landforms have been observed to be created by geological processes. Manmade things like watches obviously can't evolve since they don't reproduce and aren't part of nature. Evolution is not about replacing one life form with another, because of divergence and common ancestors. Also, scientists have disagreements in all areas of science, not just evolution.

I'm not sure if anyone will even answer this question, but for anyone who has a knowledge of Religion (particularly Christianity) and the history of it, did you come across anything that challenged your faith? How did you deal with it? Just curious..

I have heard many an Atheist talk about how teaching either Creationism or Intelligent Design is brainwashing, however by allowing only Evolution to be taught in school which is a scientific "fact" (and scientific facts change every few years as new things are discovered) is this not also brainwashing? I'm not asking to start a big controversy, and please only respond with serious, non insulting answers.

Having read and reviewed literature about evolution, and all the different views sound very much like the denominational different views on Scripture, I have come to the conclusion that it would take just as much faith for me to believe in the "Theory of Evolution" as it would for me to believe in a Creator.

Intelligent Discussion will hopefully ensue...

Darwinists pride themselves in their use of logic (if by logic they mean their ability to read the logic of others), yet when it comes to faith in the unseen, they seem to be unwilling to see that evolution requires faith as well. It scares me on some level that evolutionists tend to behave like a cult that is trying desperately to recruit new members and get really defensive.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not religious, I don't believe in God or creationism, but I don't pretend to know the origin of the species. I'm here, that's all that matters. Thoughts? Comments?

Durring the first gulf war!
I was attacked by a demon on three seperat occasions at night while sleeping during that time frame. When attacked I would awake, the spirit inside me would be fighting this demon until I awoke then would stop. The third time it attacked me I had enough awarness to comand it to leave in the name of Jesus. This is when it happend. The Holy spirit deliverd me into the Hallway outside my room, the demon stood to my left took my left hand with his and with his other hand placed his tail on top of my hand and stung me, it sent waves of fire threw my soul. No Lie! The first woe has passed two more are yet to come.

Where do you get your information? What is this about the 1800's? I am really interested in knowing why you believe this? It's written in different places in the Bible. Revelations tells about it. So how could it not exist before 1800? Revelations is in the Bible...the Bible existed before 1800.
I DON'T want the opinions of those who just don't believe in any of the Bible. I'm not going to give your answer any attention anyway. I am just really interested in why people are saying this? I never heard it before.

When my grandpa was close to death in the last week or so he kept seeing an indian man standing in the room with him. It bothered him that he would even be in the bathroom with him. I wanted to make sure that it was something that guided my grandpa to heaven cause I got scarred when seeing an old western once it showed this town of people and this indian man would escort him to hell and it scarred me. My grandpa was a good man even though he didn't go to church. He was a quarter indian and I thought mabey it was one of his ancetors. Does anyone have any advice on this?

I Am A christian. For the longest time I've had a theory about Creationism and Evolution side by side. I Belive in both of them, My theory kinda goes like so...

"God Created everything and did so with the intent of letting Evolution take It's Course."

Or...

"God Created the whole Bible world, For some reason got rid of it then BAM. Our world and Big Bang happened."

The First one kinda disaggres with Itself. You cant go from
Adam and Eve then to Monkeys evolving...

The Latter Theroy Doesnt really add up either... It just doesnt make thatmuch sense to me.

Can you help me make sense of theese two theroies. Is there a Theroy already existing that aggres with either of mine?

Finally... What are your views on Creationism and Evolution side by Side

ok did jesus decend to hell before he resurected im catholic but ive never heard this before i looked on the internet and found the apostlescreed were it does say it

"I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen."

maybe cause i dont pay attention when i say it but did he decend to hell and then heaven

.....GOD did give Lucifer wisdom & knowledge. Perhaps some of that wisdom & knowledge, was from knowing GOD would not destroy him,but have patience, hence 1000 years is one day,and day is 1,000 years according to the scriptures. Even the Son of GOD JESUS CHRIST did not know the day or hour. Satan cannot predict the future. That is why he attacks our past..

Here's why I am wondering about that. Mohammed was purported not to be able to read and write. One person said to me once that Mohammed's first wife who died before he established his harem was Jewish and perhaps her father wrote the Quran down for Mohammed. Even if this is not the case is it possible that the Jews in Mohammed's city were the only people who could read or write because of the Jewish emphasis on study and learning and Mohammed would have used a Jewish scribe to record his revelations.

A second question along these lines is the fact that later after he established a harem of of his wives was Jewish. Perhaps she converted to Islam but her children would be born Jewish in accordance with Jewish law and the Jewish bible (The Torah). Note Muslims accept the Torah as the divine word of G-d along with the Christians. Who were her children and did these Jewish children of Mohammed father Immans of their faith?

I am Jewish and love my religion and perhaps so.

I have had a very unusual experience. Last week, I got on my computer, and saw that the time was an hour behind, even though a week earlier I had reset it for daylights savings. That same day, I was in my car, and the time in it was also off by one hour-an hour earlier, and I had set that clock too. Now I know what you're thinking. I did it wrong. But I CAN set a clock correctly.
This past Saturday, I got on my computer, and the time, again was an hour behind. I reset it and called two friends at the same time, to tell them about this clock dilemma.
Anyone have any ideas about this. My mum thinks it may dad who passed on coming to see me, f--king with the clocks? I just know it really happened.

I'm not looking for "it's stupid", "it's evil" or "it's wrong". I just want you to tell me what it is to the best of your knowledge. Explain evolution to me. I want to hear it. I also don't need you to refute or endorse it... all I want is your explanation.
