There are some instances that arise in the natural world where some things don't seem to be too intelligently designed.

For example, the laws of optics dictate that our eyes actually see things "upside down" and our brain has to process the info to make it "right side up". I am a bit incredulous as how a designer that was intelligent enough to design entire organ systems, much less organisms, could make such an incompetent mistake like that.

Another example is the eyes of a mole. Moles live such a big percentage of their lives underground that they are often blind from the lack of use of eyes. Their eyes serve no purpose and yet they are still vulnerable to eye infections. What does this say about the intelligence of the designer?

There are many more examples I could list but I thought these were representative of the group.

*EDIT* Most of these answers were inane if not downright stupid. At least back up your answers other than "nice try" or explain why my argument is "very very poor"

Ask God. The wisdom of God is unfathomable. We will know the answer to your questions in due course. Man thought the earth was flat. We now know it isn't, so give it time. The more we unravel the mysteries of our world and our existence the more we get closer to God.
Thank you for your question.

The assumption is of those who have a problem with those things like you do is that everything is as it was before.

I am not so into "Intellignt Design" but I am a Christian and boldly say that God created everything that we percieve. And a lot of things that we do not percieve.

If the Christian idea is true, then things happen that did not happen as they do now.

I would say to you that things like infections didn't have the effect that they do now.

And also I would tell you that as we understand our eyes to work the way they do may have other implications that we do not percieve. I think that as far as we know how eyes work, it's sheer genius the way they are made. We function no matter what the processes are. Sheer genius.

To the mole question, it can be easily explained. Moles once needed to see, and lived above ground. The fact they still have them shows that they have adapted to another environment. And the eyes being upside down, it really doesn't matter since they work, don't they?

It is the same flaws in creationism seeing intelligent design is just repackaged in to a new form of the old creation belief.

i think the word intelligence just means that it was something other than nature on its own. Lets say for a sec that God put us here to evolove, who's to say that evolotion is finished and those creaters are at there max potential, whos to say in 5 billion years moles will not have eyes but move by sense other than that. Therefore in that case there would be no flaw, just a unfinished design.

Nothing is perfect, if God wanted it that way he would have, I dont get what you mean by the mistake with humans eyes, because they 'flaw' you so speak of is not a handicap. If people who believe in intelligent design believe that God created everything perfect then death we be a big oops wouldn't you think lol. God created everything the way he wanted it.

He said it was 'good' not perfect.

I personally would take that as a great example of intelligent design...how not only the eye can function but the entire human body.

Sorry...very, very poor argument. Try again.

The reason intelligent design doesn't make sense is because it DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. I can think of a hundred things about human beings that could have been "created" better. There's no logic to the theory of intelligent design. It's a cop out.

There is this puddle left after the rains. It thinks to itself:

"WOW I must be so special - I must have been created by a wonderful being because he designed this place for me to fit exactly."

This is supposed to be an arguement against it? Sounds more like an arguement FOR it. Your arguement is flawed.

People were once upon a time designed to be flawless but people screwed that up by disobeying God. Now no one is flawless anymore. Intelligent design, oh yes.
