Adam and Eve were created as genetically pure individuals. Their offspring were able to marry their brothers and sisters without impunity.

As their lifespans were hundreds of years, they were able to populate the regions with relative ease in a very short span of people.

Adam and Eve also had Seth, and possibly other children after that.

As for their spouses, if you believe the story literally, then it isn't much of a leap to assume God created a couple of wives.

If you don't believe it literally, you could point to Cain's concern that others would kill him (Genesis 4:12-15) and assume there were other people on the earth.

And if you believe it is just a story, then don't worry about it.
