Okay, so first I was talking about evolution.......and suddenly there was this Christian, he starts talking about some crap that looks like words but I don't think he was making sense, then he quoted the Bible, finally he told me I was a fool for being an atheist.

1> How the Hell did the topic on evolution lead to being an atheist?

2> If that Christian was so into Christianity to reject evolution, why did he so quickly to judge me as an atheist, because I'm not? Do not judge others?

3> Do you like pepsi or coke?

Coke please.

I think sometimes see everything as a package deal. IF you ask about evolution THEN you don't believe in creation SO you can't be Christian THEREFORE you're an atheist AND... you get the idea.

Not that all people don't do this. If our brains didn't have the capacity to group things and ideas together we'd have problems coping with the world, wouldn't we? Imagine if only tables with four legs were called 'table'. Those with three, five, one etc were each called something else and we'd have to learn the names of all of them before going into a furniture store. So sometimes it's good to simplify. But other times, like this, it's not.

Oh, and Prays towards Funky Town had a good point. Just because someone comes across as holding a particular belief is no guarantee they aren't just a troll. But sadly sometimes they really are what they appear to be!

Dear Adia,

1) Let me say that it's not fair to put all Christians into a box. I'm not sure why this person said what they said- and in all fairness without knowing or examining what this person said (its not my place to determine whether he is or is not a Christian). I think this person will have to answer for himself.

2) People don't become Christians to reject evolution. The Bible teaches a different worldview (that isn't based on blind faith) but i think the topic of evolution vs creation (can be found in other yahoo answers).

I'm not sure why he "judged you". I do want to say though how people understand the command to not "judge others" from the Bible is often misunderstood. The word "judge" in the verse refers to final judgment (it's like a court term). So when it tells us not to judge others it means not to draw conclusions about their character based on past experience (this is why there is so much teaching on forgiveness). When Jesus met the women caught in adultery (to the world she was a "dirty prostitute" but to Jesus she was a person with value. However, does tell Christians to be careful in their words and obviously this person was not very Christ-like in his words to you.

3) Pepsi - all the way! Pepsi goes down easy- Coke makes you feel bloated, but i'll drink Coke if i'm in a burping contest.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

1. Because a lot of Atheists use evolution to "prove" there is no God. If one is so vehement to post questions supporting evolution in the religion category, there is a natural tendency to assume one is Atheist. This is not always the case, I know.
2. See first answer.
3. COKE, Pepsi in an abomination and I will persecute all those who drink it.

Here, have a coca-cola chocolate brownie, mmm good!

Because a lot of the Christians here think, that if you think anything that is not in the bible that you must be Atheist scum on a one way path to Satan himself.
Christians not judging - I thought this was the R&S category not best jokes of the week.
I don't like either Coke or Pepsi. But I am addicted to Diet Coke. Must be all that fake sugar they put in it.

Evolution: The time where you cannot discern spiritual truths and maybe if the right conditions happen into a time where you can discern spiritual truths. This makes as much since as the guy you were talking too.

I hate both Pepsi and Coke.

1. LOL

2. The origins of the doctrine of the rapture are hotly debated. The Orthodox, mainline Protestant, and Roman Catholic churches, which represent the majority of Christians worldwide, have no tradition of such a teaching and reject the doctrine, in part because they cannot find any reference to it among any of the early Church fathers [1] and in part because they do not interpret the scriptures the way that Rapture-believers do.

3. LOL Diet Coke

You do realize that there are quite a few people who are clearly NOT Christians who troll masquerading as Christians, don't you? I would suggest that this is what that probably was.
