No this is not true !! We are taught to respect the other religion ! see the verses below which shows how to deal with the non-muslims..its a false propaganda and one of the those lies which are linked to islam !can provide more such verses !i think a muslim can tell you better about islam than anyone else who just know it from the sites and most of these sites are based on such propaganda ! Islam is not evil and i can prove it !
2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve
"This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good). (The Noble Quran, 5:5)"
"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book [Jews and Christians], those who believe in God, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to God: They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account. (The Noble Quran, 3:199)"
Peace !

No, that's not true. We're taught to respect them. And if a muslim is a convert, they are to respect their mother no matter what religion she is. As long as her orders are not against Islam (come over and shovel my snow, take me to the doctor, give me a ride from the dealership because my vehicle is being repaired) you are to obey her. I personally try to never look down on another religion. My mother is a Catholic, and I let so much slide because if it were not for this amazing woman, i would not have life and I would not have good grades. I also have many close friends who are Christian and of other faiths. For crying out loud, my Catholic aunt even has a Hindu husband!! I don't believe everyone can ever believe the same thing, and don't expect them to either. If you respect me, I will respect you, and those who know me will tell you this. I love to learn about cultures and religions, and even got a degree in Travel for that very reason.

Have you never heard Christians call themselves 'saved'? That's a statement of their perceived superiority over people of other religions. It's the same when Jews call themselves God's chosen people. Every major religion teaches its followers to look down on others.

When u have a priceless diamond ring, do u duvet it and positioned it clear of peoples eyes or exhibit it to them and allow them to contact it and believe it? That's how Muslim females so priceless. But different see it as a terrorist faith an hateful. But do not fear Allah says it in Quran that u will face what u have now. Read the moment sura ( the Cow) and concentrate cautiously.

Who asked this question ? Muslim or non Muslim?
Your eys need to be cleaned first.
Othervise no change still you will be blind or see blur.
We Muslims see things very clear thats why we do not use bad words for others but invite towards truth.
Do you accept truth?
I humbly invite you.
Qura'n says:
Chapter 3:verse 64.
[Prophet,] say [to these Nazarenes], "O People of the Book, come towards a word that is common between us and you that we shall not worship anything except [the One] God, we shall neither hold anything equal to Him nor shall anyone of us hold one another as deities[1] besides the [One] God."[2] If they persist in turning away [from your call] then say to them: "Be witnesses that we have submitted [ourselves to the One God only]."[3] (64)

Historically speaking, Islam has been one of the more tolerant religions out of the three in this religious family (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Christianity hasn't faired as well.

what does the Quran tell us to say to the unbeliever?
109.001
Say : O ye that reject Faith!
109.002
I worship not that which ye worship,
109.003
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
109.004
And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship,
109.005
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
109.006
To you be your Way, and to me mine.
Isn't this clear enough? Islam is not evil. You are right, you need to open your eyes. and your mind.....
