That's almost the same question they ask in criminal justice studies. "Do most people not break the law because it is the right thing to do? Or, is it because they will have to pay a fine, be incarcerated, or some other form of punishment?"

Because I am not willing to give up what God/Jesus has given me (in this life). Having the Holy Spirit dwell within you is an experience that can't be explained. I don't worry about or even think about heaven and hell. If there was nothing more than what I already have I would be satisfied. It's not really a matter of happiness....that is a subjective condition.

I have a personal relationship with God because He CHOSE me.
We are all called by God, but you have to hear the calling spiritually.
God longs to have a relationship with us.
The relationship starts with Jesus, when you begin a relationship with Jesus, He sends the Holy Spirit, who reveals Truth.
Yes, It does make me very happy having a relationship with my Father.
I am spoken for, by The Lord Almighty, and nothing or no one can snatch me out of His Hands.
As far as being afraid of going to hell, There was a time when I was afraid, but I am secure in God's promise. It's got to be a horrible place if God sent His Son to die for us so He can save us from going there.
I don't know what to say about the people who say they aren't
afraid of hell, who don't have Christ

as quickly as the Divine initiates a relationship, then there is not any % for faith and concept interior the non secular, it turns into know-how. the priority in understanding is that the relationship is very very own and not shared or witnessed with the help of yet another guy or woman. Our society is trapped in info based philosophies in a manner that a guy or woman's relationship with the Divine won't be able to be wide-unfold, and subsequently, many human beings brush aside Divine engagements because of fact such very own reviews don't extra healthful the actual fact standards of the info based philosophies (tremendously technology). the guy Divinely engaged can in basic terms present day what has been printed, in plenty an identical way as an explorer brings decrease back pictures and artifacts of journeys into the inaccessible areas of the globe. the religion turns into inverted: The explorer now no longer demands faith related to God, yet has to have faith interior the folk viewing the shows garnered from the Divine relationship -- that people who have not considered will have faith the tale. no longer each guy or woman will settle for the shows because of fact indoctrination into info based philosophies prohibits declarations of certainty in unverifiable reviews. that's an exciting paradox.

I choose God the Father and Lord Jesus, because that is the real purpose why He created us in the first place. God want us to choose Him so that we will become part of His Family.. The Kingdom of God.
The Source of Life want us to reunite with Him.
Hell was created only for the rebel angels, not for Humans. Angels are not human they are created only to serve God. While we Humans, created in His own image and likeness are bound to be part of His Family, to spent eternal life with Him, that is why Christian are called Children of God.
Jesus was glorified and honored, because of His obedience to the Father and that is the very purpose of the human specie and the reason why we are so different from animals. We are special and unique and God love us.
It is a once in a lifetime opportunity, If we don't choose our real purpose..........its a pity.

Dear not_a_too,
i chose to have a personal relationship with Christ- because as i learned about Him, i found everything He said to be truthful.
i know people say "all you Christians are brain-washed, etc." but i came to Christ when i was 18 years old and i am a person who thinks things out for himself (Most people who know me think of me as a "nerd" so let's just say it's not just "blind faith" but its a very reasonable faith).
For me, i knew that there were things in my life that if there was a God he would disapprove of- and when i heard the gospel, i realized that there had to be something better than the emptiness that sin brought me and that the God of this unvierse wanted to know me personally. There had to be a purpose to life.
Just because i know Jesus doesn't mean that i'm always happy. But it means that God is with me in every season of life, and i can trust Him because He's loved me, forgiven my sins, and directed my life as He promised that he would.
i'm glad you're just curious... feel free to email me with any questions you might have and i'll give you a honest down-to-earth answer.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

I choose to love jesus and persue a relationship with him because of the way he makes me feel.. I have recieved the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT and there is no greater feeling in the world....
of course i was afraid to go to hell, who isn't. but I don't have to worry about that because of gods promise. For God so loved the world. that he gave, his one and only son. that who ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life... however everyone should fear GOD, but also love him for the loving god he is..... how can you not love jesus.. He died for us. not only died but was tortured, and still after everything was without sin. wow. can you even imagine that. to be totally without sin.... WOW what a god.

Hell is not what some religions teach and I am not at all afraid of it. I love God and Jesus and will spend the rest of my life trying to please them no matter what the end result is for me. I cannot imagine living any other way.

I am in a threesome situation - a personal relationship between me, Jesus and the Tooth Fairy. Or a five-some relationship if you include God and the Holy Ghost.

At first because I was afraid of going to Hell (i.e. fire insurance). Now (24 years later)? Because it makes me happy. I've grown and learned that He will work His work whether I want Him to or not (and yes, sometimes I don't want Him to). And I have His eternal promise that all things will work to my good because I love Him and He loves me. If it weren't for Him, I'd have killed myself a long, long time ago.
