This is just false. It never happened.

You are assuming that Jesus is part of the Trinty.
He is not.
Jesus didn't ascend to his father until over forty days after his death as you rightly pointed out.
This is why some translations render the scripture at Luke 23:43 ‘Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise.’”
Because Jesus obviously wouldnt lie.
Also, he could not have meant heaven when he said "paradise" because the evildoer did not meet the requirements to go to heaven even at some later time.
He was not “born again”—being neither baptized in water nor begotten by God’s spirit.
Holy spirit was not poured out upon Jesus’ disciples until more than 50 days after the evildoer’s death.
(John 3:3, 5; Acts 2:1-4)
The paradise that Jesus spoke to the evildoer about is the restored paradise that God will bring about on the earth. It was His original purpose that mankind live forever on paradise earth and just because Adam & Eve spoiled that doesn't mean that it won't be fufilled.
Isaiah 55:10, 11 - What God purposes will happen
Psalm 37:9-11 & 29 - Mankind to live forever on the earth
So you see this "paradise" is mentioned elsewhere in the Bible
Of course we know that Jesus wouldn't lie.
He evidently meant a future earthly paradise
God's original purpose for mankind

Maybe since Jesus was in human form He didn't know exactly how God was going to carry out the process of His death and resurrection. Maybe all He knew was the purpose of what was happening. It's a very good question but the thing we should be focusing on is the fact that Jesus lovingly took our punishment from us. If He hadn't completed His purpose, then we would all be punished for our sins forever. All that Jesus asks from us in return is that we believe in Him with a "child-like" faith. Asking questions about the details is great, but just be careful not to lose sight of the whole picture.

'One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other criminal rebuked him.
"Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."' Luke 23:39-43
The word 'paradise' does not mean 'heaven', not in this usage, anyway. The later Jews believed (quite unjustifiably, from revealed Scripture) that Hades was divided into two parts, one for the unjust, and another for those who would eventually be raised, named paradise, conceptually related to the Garden of Eden. Others went on from there and said that Hades was only for the unrighteous, present paradise being for future saints, though not the eventual full, heavenly state, or 'Eden'. Which model the thief believed in does not matter; it was surely the best frame of reference that Jesus could have used. There is New Testament evidence that there is indeed a waiting state before universal judgement, though the concept of a divided Hades, probably a concept rather too literalist and pictorialist, is not explicit. Moreover, it is not even a conscious state, but a 'sleep'. However, Jesus' reply was made in terms that the thief and contemporary Jews understood.
The important point to realise is that the thief was told that he would be with Jesus- exactly where or when does not matter. Jesus' reply cannot be taken as a full statement of systematic theology. One cannot apply the temporal limitations of the created world to the supernal. His reply does not mean that Jesus did not suffer the full penalty for the sins of all. It meant merely that the thief, because of his humility, because of his recognition of Jesus' innocence, was accepted- by virtue of the faith in Christ that is essential for salvation.
Another thing to realise is that there is only ever one true God in Scripture, and Jesus is his manifestation to us. There are not three separate divine persons, only one, with three personae. God has three 'hats', or 'faces', as the Bible actually has it.

'i 'before 'e' except after 'c' and a couple of other exceptions, as in 'weird'.
Thus 'thief' is spelled as shown.
That aside:
No-one of any reliability was around at the supposed occasion. Most of the tripe in the bible was written hundreds of years after the fact. Nothing contained therein carries any weight and so I suggest that it is an interesting question but there will be no clear answer.
It is very well known that the bible is stuffed full of contradictions, which is why it should be ignored. If just one line is a lie, what's to say that it all isn't?

He was a Jewish holy man, and a man of his time. If you look at the history of the time and area he lived in, you can get a better understanding of the "Man" The divinity of Jesus I would leave to those who see him as divine.
Be well

You obviously do not understand the nature of Jesus. Jesus was fully God as well as fully man. While the man lay in the tomb, God was leading a triumphant entry into heaven. God can never be wrong or mistaken. The Bible is correct. Paradise is heaven.

The historicity of Jesus, the Christ, has been validly questioned based on the "silence of history" about him. He is now regarded by many enlightened people as a figment of imagination of the gospel writers; biblical accounts being unreliable and largely mythical!

Friend, it never cease to amaze me how many of you kind of people try so hard to disprove anything in the bible, & all you do is stick your foot into your mouth, you are not dealing here with a young Christian, I have been a Christian for 37 yrs. & God has taught me somethings, When Jesus Died, he did not go to heaven for 3 days or even your so called 40 days, He went to paridise, that at that time was in the heart of the earth. Jesus Christ is the same one that ascended he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth, Paridise & hell was in the heart of the earth. Don't you remember the story of the rich man dying & lifting up his eyes being in torment & cried out to send someone to warn his brother, & It says that there was a great gulf between hell & paridise, So Jesus went into paridise part of hell & preached unto those souls, when Christ rose from the dead, the bible also says that The GRAVES were opened, whose graves was those souls that was redeemed, It was none other then those OT saints, There fore after Christ rose fom the dead, Paridise part is no longer in the heart of the earth, Only Hell or the torment side is left in the earth. Paridise now is in the heavens, & One day after the milliennium, God will bring forth those evil souls & judge them & cast hell, satan, & all the wicked ones into a lake of fire. Now anything I said is in the bible, & what you said is not. Do you need my grandson to get all the verses for you or can you do that on your own. I doubt it. But let me know.
