There are thousands of books out there on meditation: what to meditate on, how to do it, etc. Surely it is best to find the right way for the individual? Do we not discover inner peace through our own mind?

So many people say "Oh, the Mormons are such good decent people, but their church is so bad and evil". That seems to be a contradiction in terms. How can such an evil organization produce so many good decent people?

Is one gigantic accident with no design or ultimate purpose?

What is the effect of mind over matter?
How do you explain that this world seems to be designed to allow mankind, and human consciousness to flourish?

I saw two of them today. They crossed when the little man was red! They didn't even get off their bikes, which I might add were very expensive looking. What is the world coming to? Even Mormons are disobeying traffic signals.

I consider myself spiritual, but I don't necessarily believe (or not believe) in god(s) or such-like definitions. In fact I'm not sure if it is important to 'find out' if there is a god or creator or whatnot.

if you also consider yourselves to be spiritual - but not religious- then what are your thoughts on this subject?

again, this is a question stricktly for those that do not follow organized religion.

like in Geeta the Lord Sri Krishna said that "yagya karne wala bhi brahama, samagri bhi brahama, vaani bhi brahama , yagya fal bhi brahama hain" then what is your existance . and then why we think too much about karma and all these things let them happen in natural way.

I keep reading these answers and questions about Mormons and they just can't understand who would believe such weird stuff.

But, I challenge them to answer that problem. Why would so many intelligent, sane, rational people CHOOSE to be members of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints?

I mean, did you ever STOP TO THINK that perhaps we do NOT BELIEVE in those weird things? That the anti-Mormons are making a lot of this stuff up, for the shock value?

STOP TO THINK.

In defense of how Christianity holds a truth not held by others, consider this:
In all other beliefs concerning God, what other faith has a principle by which a righteous and holy God can reconcile sinful, or wrong doing people to Himself without compromising His righteousness and Holiness? I respect that some of you do not believe at all, and respect your rights, but consider this: without a person enduring the punishment for wrong, how can God accept you without compromising Himself? If He chooses to forgive only out of pity or mercy then He is condoning the wrongful acts, and becomes diluted in the sins that He arbitrarily decides to forgive. Where Christ paid the full penalty--death--separation from deity "Why has Thou forsaken me?" And was regenerated because He had no sin of His own. The demands of infinite holiness were satisfied in Christ. And God is now justified in forgiving, because the price of sin has been paid in full. Food for thought?

Influential, inspirational...along the lines of U2 and Ani Difranco
and PLEASE do not send me gospel and religious freak crap, I'm more spiritual and free than self-righteous and narrow-minded.
Thanks a lot!

What if science could prove that aliens have built pyramid
and there exists at least one species on another planet which is at least 5000 years ahead of human civilization.
How would your religious belief change then
since none of the religion mentions anything about any other planet or species other than earth and human beings

I'm just curious, do you?

When someone said something bad about some religion, without confirming if it's true or not, from a reliable source or not, do you believe in it straight away?

For example, I say like..... muslims are terrorist, many people would say straight away "that's right".....ignoring completely that the terrorists in Islam is comparible to the 700 club in Christianity, that even their own people hate them.

Then I say that Christians are hypocrites......BAM, pages and pages of the Bible, pages and pages of explaination and intrepretation.

So, do you honestly listen to the ramblings of a fool?

If you have an informed opinion that may hurt the feelings of any of a number of ethnic minorities / homosexuals / lesbians / Muslims / x / y / z, shut up! Can't we all just get along? :-)

We keep a compulsory harmony in an ideologically mixed society by policing any minority views that cause tension. How idiotic.

Don't you think God, knowing as much as He does about human nature, and our tendency to react negatively to having a message of any sort shoved down our throat, would know of a more efficient way of preaching His gospel than overzealous propagandists? I'm not religion bashing here; in fact, I'm a Christian myself. I'm just trying to point out the fact that arrogance in one's own beliefs tends to do more harm than good, and that's pretty much something God frowns upon.

Principally to rationalists. If there is no spiritual component to the world, and there is no such thing as divinely revealed morality, what possible logical, rationally based arguement could be made against having sex with a dead body?

Lack of consent is not an argument. Inanimate object have no consent to give or deny. And you finding it disgusting is not an argument because your asthetic tastes should not be imposed on others.

Out of all religions ive noticed that Christians ... are very judgemental. Every time i talk to one about anything. About science, or other religions they dont seem to care. And i know this makes me look like a idiot for saying this. But i dont understand. If i talk to Muslims about what they believe in. they know alot to say about it. It seems that most Christians dont even know anything. I asked about 20 Christian children about what race was Jesus... 17 of them said white. Does this seem sad to you that Americas top leading religion is a bit... corrupt. Ive read so many book on so many things that just .... make me sick to my stomach about the christian religion. A Christian told me once... That everybody in the world that is not christian will goto hell. I asked.. What about children born in Africa. That are raised to live a diffrent life. Will they burn in hell. the christian looked at me.. confuzed... and said.. I guess so.
What do you think I typed this in 2 min. bad spelling

And I agree with him that he would make a wonderfull preacher, but I'm not sure I'm ready for all the scruteny I would be under as a preacher's wife. Any suggestions about not caring what people say? i have told people before that i didnt believe in God anymore ever since i was in jail (Tijuana, Mexico) because of the loneliness and pain i had to endure there, i didnt really stopped believing in God but i was mad at Him, so thats why i denied him, and also sometimes deep inside of me i doubt of his existence because i havent seen no clues or miracles happen, and also all the suffering that goes around the world shocks me, the war with iraq, and no one doing anything about it, im just a teenager so nobody would really listen to me if i tried to stop the war, anyways i do fear God a lot, even though i cannot see God, and i want to have more faith in him, but i dont know how, i smoke marijuana, sniff coke, smoke cigarretes and get drunk, and all at the same time. i also have good things in my life though, a wonderful family and a beautiful girlfriend, and i really do feel thankful for this... my two main questions are: am i going to hell for denying him? and how do i believe in him?
