Look, the concepts of 'purpose' and 'goals' and 'finish line' are very human. They come from a goal-oriented society.
They don't map well to nature (and life is a natural process). Self awareness is a byproduct of our evolutionary path. So we wonder what we are doing here. But that doesn't mean nature has some grand plan for us, or any plan at all. It just is.
That said, it means you are free to give any purpose and meaning to life that you like, within certain constraints like the reponsibilities and duties you have to other humans (like not hurting them). We are also social group-animals.

I can tell you but I'm not sure if I know exactly or if anybody does. Truth is you need to answer this question yourself. Biologically I would say to pass on genes but that is a primitive way of thinking when we know there is much more. Know that all the fighting and struggles we have to go through are usually so eventually we can have peace and just lay back and be happy.

Purpose of Life: you're born, you grow and mature, and you die.
Now, what you do in between makes all the difference. You may choose the path of learning; master a skill and teach others. You might choose the path of least resistance and make as small a contribution to mankind and history as possible.
You might learn to appreciate and/or create art (painting, music, theatre, etc.). You might choose to marry and raise children or remain single.
You might develop a sense of sympathy and benevolence toward mankind or become a misanthrope.
YOU are the one that gives "meaning" to your life.

Why would you ask this question? Especially in a religion and spirituality forum. And then point out that you want no Christian advice. Food for thought: The settlement of the Angelic Conflict. Sin must be allowed to be fully manifested in order for it to be fully judged and destroyed. Sin was once only a possibility not a reality, but through creatures with free will it became an actuality.

The purpose of life is to gain spiritual experience in this world. Think of yourself as an apprentice to God, a mini-God who has to develop all God qualities in himself. This earth is therefore a school or laboratory where we learn (mostly by trial and error) how to develop our God qualities.
Some have caught on to the act, others are yet to understand what is going on. But it does not matter, as all of us, in our own individual time and way, will eventually graduate in flying colors and return home to God to co-work with Him.

I believe that the purpose of life is experience and the gaining of knowledge. ( I also believe in reincarnation ) I think you come back (re-born) as a human over and over until you have experienced it all and then your spirit can enter a higher realm.

The only concrete thing I know of "purpose and meaning" is survival. That there is my religion. And being intelligent about it to.
Do that, and you will be fine.

Life does not require a purpose. It just is. And believe me, if you think about it, you'll realize its more than enough.
