Don't you think God, knowing as much as He does about human nature, and our tendency to react negatively to having a message of any sort shoved down our throat, would know of a more efficient way of preaching His gospel than overzealous propagandists? I'm not religion bashing here; in fact, I'm a Christian myself. I'm just trying to point out the fact that arrogance in one's own beliefs tends to do more harm than good, and that's pretty much something God frowns upon.

I agree with you 100%. People will undoubtedly carry on about me making a comment considering i am an atheist, but this overzealous preaching is what turned me against Christianity. I was raised Anglican and saw many examples or prejudice and ignorance in the church. This made me realise (FOR ME PEOPLE) that i didn't want to be a believer. How can one preach Christian values yet hate those who do not believe the same as them? If there was a more subtle, less zealous way of preaching, then i am sure i would have stayed in the church.
Most religions are full of this arrogance and ignorance. The only one that doesn't seem to be is Buddhism, but i suppose that is more a philosophy.
But i agree with you wholeheartedly.

This is an excellent question. Who are we worshiping when we subscribe to a certain religion? All the gods have names, the GOD of the christian religion even has a name but it is not widely known. It is YAH YHWH, YAHUWAH etc. I just use YAH. If all of the gods are 1 god then they would all have the same attributes and requirements for faith/behavior. since they are all different they must be different gods. Even satan is a god to some people and he is the opposite to YAH. So I do not believe they are all the same, I did before really getting into the christian religion. The Bible describes the other gods as angels and I believe this is referring to satans fallen angels. It makes sense that they would come to earth and pretend to be gods to take people away from the true creator.

their may be some hidden validity to what the men that defined the concept of god thought or think but the hide behind god method will never be honest . so dream on !
Just because someone thinks something should be frowned upon still deserves reason and not an imaginary god to validate it's assertion. your idea of god frowns upon arrogance is ironic as the concept of god is arrogant thinking on mans and your part in itself.
keep trying my friend !

A true teacher of religion is not an overzealous propagandist.

These overzealous crazy whatever proagandists....Well, these people are a test to you. You are a christian? Then remember that no one represents Christianity except for Christ himself--there are no other examples to follow. Back to the people who are a test- remember that the most powerful satanists pose as Christians.

Yes, I agree. The best way to let people know the value of your religion is to live by that religion with sincerity. Be a living example, and respect people. I think that makes a lot more sense than propaganda!

St Francis of Assisi once said something to the effect of, "Witness to others. If you have to use words, you've failed."

sometimes there is need to be salty, and sometimes we need to plow and break up hard ground, sometimes we need to blow fire just to wake them up from the delusion, and then after that you can lay down the seed a little more subtle!
