i have told people before that i didnt believe in God anymore ever since i was in jail (Tijuana, Mexico) because of the loneliness and pain i had to endure there, i didnt really stopped believing in God but i was mad at Him, so thats why i denied him, and also sometimes deep inside of me i doubt of his existence because i havent seen no clues or miracles happen, and also all the suffering that goes around the world shocks me, the war with iraq, and no one doing anything about it, im just a teenager so nobody would really listen to me if i tried to stop the war, anyways i do fear God a lot, even though i cannot see God, and i want to have more faith in him, but i dont know how, i smoke marijuana, sniff coke, smoke cigarretes and get drunk, and all at the same time. i also have good things in my life though, a wonderful family and a beautiful girlfriend, and i really do feel thankful for this... my two main questions are: am i going to hell for denying him? and how do i believe in him?

I want to thank everybody for helping me, some of your answers really hit my heart and made me cry, some got me confused. I see that God works in mysterious ways, he has taken 2 of my best friends this year, and my father when i was 5 years old, but i know he had a good reason for all this, and their deaths were not in vain. thank you for praying for me, its a warm feeling to find such wonderful people. i will pray for you too tonight.

If you are fine today, then its a good sign. Stop thinking about hell and heaven, it doesn't help, what important is you're on your own now and happy.

Don't replace your family and friends by drugs and other bad habits.

If God is real then he's happy of what you'll become. What important to Him is what you are now. Just don't do anything thats harmful to yourself.

Be happy.

Whisper, I do hope you read this post. Believe me, what you are going through is not unique to you at all, as all of us at one time or another have to pass through it. And no matter what you have done, God is patiently waiting for you to learn from whatever mistakes you may have made. That is the whole idea: to learn from our mistakes.

Whether you see them or not, miracles are always around you; and God is constantly by your side, talking to you, only you don't know. If you want to see or hear more of God therefore, the first thing is to throw off your drug habits. Drugs and God do not mix at all. You will find that while your drugs last a few hours at the most, the feel of God is absolutely enduring.

Your concept of 'hell' is wrong.
It is not a permanent place of torment or torture as some religions teach.
Look at what the Bible says about it.
(REVELATION 20:14) “And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.”

Hades is the Greek language equivalent of 'hell'
And what happens when something goes into a fire?
destruction, nothing left.
But death is a ' condition'
so is sickness.
Look at what the bible says about those two.
(REVELATION 21:4) “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.””

Death and sickness to be wiped out.
And yet death and 'Hades' are linked.
Two ' conditions'.
The only condition that can be linked to death is the grave.,
whether in the ground or in the sea.
So from this it is clear that Hades= man's grave.
It will disappear along with death.

You need to be born again (saved) and it will all come to you. I had the same problem, until I became saved and then I started to understand scripture out of the Bible and also I felt like alot of my prayers were answered along with blessings I received. I can understand you being in jail and the feeling of it. I too have sat in jail and it is not fun, and I can only imagine how it could have been in Tijuana. I too use to smoke cigarettes and pot when I was much younger. In fact I use to sell pot. I am only happy I walked away from that lifestyle. I am now very drug free, a non smoker and a born again Christian. Whenever you suffer and feel pain, just remember the pain and suffering Jesus went through for us. Here is a website that will help bring you closer to God. I always refer to this website.

No man shall come to the Father Except through the Son, Jesus Christ. I think that at some point in every ones life they get a little mad at God, but he knows our heart, and if you acknowledge him now, then all is forgiven if you have taken your sin to the one that can forgive it, Jesus Christ. He is the one that you need to repent to and ask for forgiveness. He paid the price on the cross, that is why he went to the cross, so that we did not have to. Satan took the Son of God into hell illegally, because hell is a place for sinners and Jesus never sinned, so that is what broke the covenant and The new covenant was put in it's place, so that any one that accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior shall not parish, but have ever lasting life. You need to feed the spirit man by reading the Bible, and then your faith will grow, Good luck.

Sweetheart did you know that to fear God is to respect him and be in awe of him?It doesn't mean to be afraid of him.We never have to be afraid of our loving Father. He loves you very much and trust me he would never ever hurt you. When things go wrong in our life it's either because we're being attacked by Satan or it's a direct result of something we did we weren't supposed to do.If a child does something that causes them pain it isn't God doing it it's them doing it to themselves.People have free will they can do whatever they want. They can either be dead to God and never know life or they can give their lives to God and be given life in Jesus. So if a person kills another person it's not God letting it happen it's Satan making it happen because everyone who is spiritually dead is a slave to Satan and sin.The only way out of this is to turn to Jesus who will deliver you from the wages of sin and the desire to do it.This is a fallen world we live in,that's why there's so much violence all over the world.Did you know that when you go to Heaven God will see the blood of Jesus on you and pass over you?Just like in Egypt when the angel of death passed over the children of Israels homes and spared their first born because they placed the blood of the lamb on their door.If you hurt then turn to God,he will take care of you and make it all go away. Please stop doing the other stuff, you don't need it and it will make you more lost than you already are.My heart goes out to todays youth, they like you, have so much to deal with.It must be really hard to understand all the things that are happening right now.But now isn't the time to turn away from God.Now is the time you need him the most.I'll pray for you right now and ask others to pray for you also.Everything will be alright, don't worry ok?

You are not going to hell because you understand your ignorance about Him. Those of us who believe in His existence, but think lowly of others have reserved their seats in the hell.

I am happy that you have a wonderful family and a sweet girl friend. Your addictions are a cause of worry though.

Cry out for a saint to help you know Him.

And keep going through my answers in these columns. They are useful.

It is difficult to think about or see God if you smoke pot, sniff coke, and drink. You will go to hell if you continue to deny Him, but there is much hope for you. Just asking the question shows that you are concerned about eternity. Here is my 'Best Answer' to the ?, How do I get saved? I think it will help.

What a great question! Just in your asking you are well on the way to finding out. But you must ask saved from what? The what is God's wrath. We have all sinned, and we fall short of God's standards. We do not honor, love, or glorify Him as we should, with our whole heart, soul, and mind. As a result, we all will face the wrath of God....unless! God delights in mercy, not wrath. He sent His son to incur the wrath of God for us. Remember His words on the cross, "Father, why have you foresaken me?" He became your sin, paid the penalty, and satisfied a holy God. You now need to humbly accept this sacrifice by faith, believing that without Christ's sacrifice, you would have no hope. Come to God pleading for HIS MERCY, but bringing before Him, not anything you have done, but resting in the merits of Christ alone. He will then give to you freely, credit to your account, the perfect obedience of His Son, Jesus Christ. Please read Romans chapters 1-8. I'm praying for you.

Wow, what a query - is He a boundlessly loving God, or a tormentor? If he's the former, i think of he will love the athiests, too. If he's the latter, than the athiests will rightly deny His love for the reason that they gained't have experienced it. i assume we will discern it out whilst we get there, huh?

Jesus said that whoever deny Him will also be denied. Your issue is about God's goodness, not His existence. The problem of evil is not solved by denying God. Neither does it go away. But you should know that God has met the problem of evil by incarnating Himself within the fallen world, and going through the hardships of a fallen world, under the hands of His very own prized creation, us! By suffering at the hands of evil men, and dying under their machinations, Jesus triumphed over sin and death by rising from the dead. And in Jesus we can have abundant life right now, and eternal life to come. I encourage you to make your choice with Jesus.
