When Lord Krishn is telling you to worship Him only, it is not like a dictator telling you to do that. God wants you to worship Him because, he is concerned about you ( soul).

The relationship of the soul with the soul of all the souls( Krishn), should be understood.

The purpose of the Lord's saying is for different reason. Having born in this world, we forget the purpose and spoil our time on earth with enjoying the pleasures of life, amassing wealth etc. I don't think animals are any different. They also eat , sleep and rear the family, some animals keep food in their places for use during winter or like that. In what way we are superior? We have got discrimination. We can think about our purpose in life. We can learn from saints, read the scriptures to end the cycle of birth and death which is really a misery. The Lord shows the way and says surrender to me , worship me along leaving all other ventures since we have lived several lives in this earth and repeatedly taking birth and ultimately dying. Are you happy with all these? The momentary enjoyment of earthly pleasures vanish. There is no joy everlasting which can come only after reach back the source from where we came. Hence He shows the way. Worship me only, to escape the coils of samsara, i.e., earthly existence.

If you think in a holistic way , daily we are worshipping somebody. It may be a cricket/movie star , your boss/CMD , your guru , your parents , money , love , beauty etc.,etc., the list is endless.
So whoever we love , respect , to show our gratitude we do a sort of hero worshipping everyday . It is inherent in our nature and is a perfectly natural thing to do. There is no shame or guilty feeling in the same.
That is why the lord is saying that , you should do your work and show your love and gratitude to worldly items in whatever way you want . But remember , that all these things are temporary and perishable . What is constant and always beside you , is my love , my comfort , my company , which will never leave or desert you in times of need .
So , in spite of doing so many things and even being preoccupied , just remember me once in a day , to give yourself solace and peace.
He never said do not worship the others , he said do your job , but do remember and worship me also , your creator.

Search of God and wish of worship is ingrained in human nature. This is the only reason why we worship our Lord - No matter what we call him!

Infact He has no name but we human have given him certain names according to our knowledge and wisdom.

I think Vedas (including Geeta) are a good source to find His Will and commandments.

Do we really look into our sacred scriptures??

Dear friend,

I am sure that you have not properly read Bhagavath Geeta of Lord Sri Krishna.

Never he said in it that'' WORSHIP ME ALONE''

Instead HE said " One should follow his own faith and do not unnecessarily go for another faith however attractive it may be''

I sincerely request all, before posting a religious question , it is highly acceptable one reads that Book himself or discusses that with competent people.

Picking a sentence some whee and saying that as a quotation is misleading. You should know, when, what for,to whom, in which circumstances and under what condition and context that sentence is spoken.
If any body quotes a sentence without relevance to its Place,Time and the entire scenario when it was spoken, it will be not fully understood and some times wrongly understood. This is true,in my opinion, with every religious HOLY BOOKS.

Once again I reiterate Sri Krishna never said WORSHIP ME ALONE.

Please kindly read again.

In the name of Allah the most benefecient the most merciful.
As a Muslim i an very Happy that you have brought out this
very important subject.Islam agrees with this concept and this
is one of the many similarities that exist between Islam and
hinduism. This is the purpose of our creation. The holy Quran
tells us that the only reason of our creation is to worship our
creator. We acknowledge the existance of our creator and
wprship Him alone on his terms and conditions. This life is
where we are stationed for a short time before we move to
our final destination that is the life after death. If we believe in
God almighty and adher to his commandments, at the same
time accepting the good that God almighty has Given us in
this world like life, love , food, education, marriage ,children,
and moderate comforts and have patience in times of trails
of life one can expect to gain the reward of a life everlasting
in Paradise[ swarg ] But if a person gets caught up in the
pleasures of this world ,and begins to worship other Gods, Idols, humans , and other created objects and gets attached
to the life of this world and is ungrateful to his creator then he
can expect to be a looser in the next life and abide in hell[narg].
The Bhagwat gita,7;20 says,''those whose intelligence has
been stolen by material desires, surrender unto demi gods....''
IN the chandogya Upinishad;6;2;1,''He is one without a second''
Svetasvatara upinishad,6;9.''Of him there are neither partners
nor lord''
Yajurveda, 32;3''There is no image of Him''
Yajurveda, 40,9.They enter darkness those who worship the
natural elements[ air water, fire], They sink deeper into
Darkness those who wprship Sambhuti[ created things]

The Bramha Sutra of Hinduism is ''Ekam,Brahm, dvitya naste
neh na naste kinchan'' which means '' There is only one God
Not a second, Not at all, Not at all , Not in the least Bit.

This is what the Prophet Muhammad[ peace be on him] came
to preach '' that none has the right to be worshipped but God
almighty.''Meaning very simply that there is only one God and
all our worship is for Him and Him alone.

Internet is not a proper place for subjecting our religious books on acid test...

followers of other religions do not do it to their religious books... they would rather fight against any body who attempt to criticise anything connected to their religion...
