Christmas celebrations were 'imported' into Christianity from other religions practicing pagan rites.
December 25 is not the birthdate of Jesus and this can be proved.
Jesus was ' about 30' when baptised, and preached for 3 1/2 years.
He died about March/April, termed by some religions as Easter. The name Easter itself taken from a pagan god.
Go back in time 33 1/2 years from March/April.
the result is the months of September/October....NOT December 25.

The Christmas tree is a Pagan tradition adopted by Constantine when he converted Rome to Christianity in a desperate effort to make the season more palatable to Christianity. Christmas isnt even the season of Jesus birth. Jesus was born in the summer.

However, Christmas is the time of the god Mithras birth, who coincidentally, has a great many similarities to Jesus. And Christmas USED to be called Yule and Midwinter and was a celebration of the changing of the seasons.

As for the cards.... that was invented by Hallmark.

The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, just like his sacrifice on the cross, has just one message: love for you and me. What is wrong with expressing our love for someone by way of a card or a gift?

By the way, the Christmas tree does not have a pagan origin. St. Francis of Assisi is credited with the tree along with the Nativity scene. And granting for the sake of argument that it has a pagan origin, what is wrong with that? Are you going against God by doing that?

Peace and every blessing!

Well, the tree is a pagan custom of bringing in an evergreen tree basically as a constant reminder that life goes on, even in the "dead of winter". It's decorated with friendly reminders of fond memories & wishes for the future, and lights to represent that the sun will soon return to bring new life. Cards & gifts are for showing thanks to those who affect your life; it supports giving & sharing.
