We assume that by moving our hand we can 'cause' a ball to be tossed in the air...and we take it for granted as we seem to be able to observe all sorts of instances of this.

When a shadow hand moves though, we can observe a shadow ball being tossed upward as well...but we wouldn't say that the shadow hand 'causes' the shadow ball to be thrown, right?

So why do we presume that anything we see is really causal and not simply concurrent spontanaeity?

(if I recall correctly David Hume discussed this kind of stuff?)

Atheists say that it makes no sense that a God would make himself invisible to people and not give any empirical evidence for his existence if the consequence for not believing in him is going to Hell forever.

That's a stupid argument. There is scientific evidence for Christianity being true. You'll find it on creationist websites.

God does not let us know if he exists for sure on purpose. It's part of a test. Believing in him without too much evidence makes us better people. What's hard to understand about that? Not a thing.

Let me ask you this: Will there be another sunrise? What proof do you have of that? Can you scientifically prove that the sun will come up again? What's that? You can't?

Believing in God is no different from believing the sun will come up tomorrow. You could say that people have actually physically seen the sun and not God, but that's a dumb arguement. Go to a creationist website. Science backs up Christianity as the one true religion.

This seems to be an American teenage girl thing. They will go against everything they believe, common sense, basic self-respect and get depressed, then do it all again and say they do it because their happiness comes first.

And they come up with really retarded personal philosophies. Like, "I'm going off to Europe to find myself." What the hell makes you think that will help you find yourself, and what the hell does that mean?

I remember this about the American tourist and student girls I used to bone when I lived in Palestine. What causes this weird logic?

(This is not an anti-American thing. America is great. I live here now and love America. Just a basic question about the logic of AMerican girls. I could mention, rich or higher middle class ones.)

In the last few hours I have answered a number of questions posed by Lover of God, and in so doing have apparently upset him/her. In LoG's view I have offered only "hateful answers [including] nothing loving, caring, or concerned for the feelings of others" and might be someone called "Godless" in disguise.

As far as I can tell my answers have in the main been calm and rational, with nary a hint of inciteful language - although Richard Dawkins might not appreciate me referring to him as "The Dawk".

If I have caused offence I apologise unreservedly, for to not do so would be hypocritical in the extreme.

But I ask of my fellow YA-ers as objective as possible an assessment of whether or not my words this day have, indeed, been "hateful".

For some reason people think that Islam was found During mohammed's (PBUH) time period. where did people get that info from.
Read this :

the arabic word islam literally menas "surrender" or "submission". Islam, as a faith, means total and sincere surrender to God so that one can live in peace and tranquility.
The name Islam ia universal in meaning. Islam is not named after a tribe of people or an individual, as Judaism is namedafter the tribe of Judah, Christianity after Christ, and Buddhism after Buddha. Islam is not a name chosen by human beings; it was divinely communicated from God. Islam is global faith, not of the east or west.
It was Not Muhammad(pbuh) but adam(pbuh) who first brought Islam to Humanity. Then each prophet and Messenger came to exhort the people to a clear understanding of God's commandments. They offeredd teachings to relevant to that time, untill God chose the final prophet, Muhammad(pbuh), to come with the Last Testament referred to as the Qur'an.
