I am a 19 year old male college student in the state of Indiana. I am writing just to see what some grown believers can tell me. Despite my TRUE surrendering to God less than a year ago, I still find myself constantly battling against sexual impurity. By that I specifically mean lust (looking at girls with sexual desire), thoughts of past sexual life, and basically the little impurities found on the internet on a daily basis. I have willingly sinned because of this numerous times. I have asked God to ease this terrible burden on me. I don't know if it is my age or what, but my body (mind) just can't seem to calm down at the site of a girl/woman. This is very difficult upon me and I bring it to God every second. Sometimes I see God allowing me to be victorious from day to day but believe me, my flesh is not willing. I am truly dedicated to being holy as God wants me holy and the last thing I want to be is the average Christian. So, let God speak to me through any of you all out there.

So from this website, and from talking to atheists in general, I have realized that many of them are not bible literate. Now, don't get me here for making an "assumption". I said many, not all. How can you argue about a source which you have not delved into and personally scrutinized. I see that many atheists just memorize examples that they looked up online or elsewhere, and they continually use them. First, learn the bible in side out, then start arguing about it. Don't you think?

I promised myself that I would read the Bible, from cover to cover, start to finish, instead of just reading snippets. However, I'm very busy and the only time I can spare for recreational reading is when I go to the toilet - is this wrong?

C'mon, I know you do. Anybody who interprets everything in the Bible literally is a fool, correct? We can all agree on that. Now, given that fact, which beliefs do you find suiting to your life? What out of the Bible is really fitting for you? It's so great to be able to find convenient words from the Bible depending on the situation! If something seems outright rediculous, we can chalk it up to metaphors! I'm so glad that I can refute virgin birth, the flooding of the entire world, and the various evil statements therein!! Deuteronomy 20:10-14, Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT, Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT, Exodus 21:15 NAB, Exodus 22:19 NAB, 2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB, Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT, Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB, Exodus 31:12-15 NLT, Romans 1:24-32 NLT, Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT, Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT, etc. How splendid it is to be a Christian! How wondrous! Thank God I will be able to go to heaven while most of the world suffers for eternity! God loves you, unless you don't love him

Im a straight guy but i see all these so called christians who hate gays. They pull things from the bible that call gay as sinful. but in other parts of the bible it says throwing stones is a sin and to love everyone. Gays r people too. It shouldnt matter if gay guys prefer penis or girls prefer vagina. They r still human.

SUN TZU ON THE ART OF WAR is over 2450 years old and has always been read and memorized throughout those years. It has been translated into every major language of the world. So, by Christian standards "The Arts of War" are more holy (Dictionary defintion "holy" as revered and venerated) than the Bible and should be revered and never questioned.

And don't you think your fanaticism is just as bad as any Jewish or Islamic extremists?

Why do you think it is right to execute people after holding them on death row for years on end? Christ would be disgusted with your so called "take" on Christianity. Two wrongs don't make a right! Hell has a place reserved for you I am sure.

Whenever someone mentions they are depressed nowadays people automatically tell him to go see a dr and they put them on paxil etc - it seems very common now.

Do you think this will stunt spiritual/emotional growth?

itseems like it takes the pain away - but the injury is still there?

How do you gain faith that there really is a God?

The thought haunts me every day that when I die....thats it......me as I know me is gone......mentally as well as physically.........I want to believe very badly in an afterlife, but, can't seem to believe in something I can't prove.......Is it just that our mind is not capable of understanding it?......and if so, how do I overcome that?..........Not just reccomending your religion, can someone tell me how I go about getting to a point that I truly believe that there is a God...........so that when I die, if there is no God, I will have at least spent my life not worring about it?

What if all the Bibles, and the people who had memorized them were lost in some world disastor, and we had to start a new population that had never heard of the Bible.

Would we still be able to know God, and go to Heaven? Would the Holy Spirit be enough? If so, why is it not enough now?

This is a pretty wide ranging question & is meant to cover extremism in Christianity/Judaism/Islam etc.

I for one have many different beliefs. I don't believe any religion has the right to say it is the correct one.

Too many wars have been started by religion, by evil men who misquote texts for their own evil means & then use those quotes to try to justify their actions.

Hell, i'm from Scotland & I would rather see a return to the Old Celtic religion than the garbage that has come out of the middle east.

I've a feeling I might have strong answers to this one, so I open the floor to you all.

If you have a fanatical view about your religion can you please justify it?

What happened to good old fashioned morals? What happened to just being a good person? to saying something positive instead of being arrogent? to pulling your pants up? to respecting yourself by wearing more clothes? Alot of stuff is commonplace today. Its no big thing to see two people using profanity around an elderly lady. I'm only 21 and I know something about this culture isn't right. Things weren't this bad 10 years ago.
