Well in Islam you can't have a de facto relationship. You have to be legally Islamic married to each other, its like you are dating which is not allowed in Islam. I could not find a website. But the reason is obviously because if you having a relationship when you are acting like a husband and wife than you should get married and make it official, whats the point of not getting married.
