What happened to good old fashioned morals? What happened to just being a good person? to saying something positive instead of being arrogent? to pulling your pants up? to respecting yourself by wearing more clothes? Alot of stuff is commonplace today. Its no big thing to see two people using profanity around an elderly lady. I'm only 21 and I know something about this culture isn't right. Things weren't this bad 10 years ago.

There's lots of good decent people who still have morals but we don't get the headlines in the newspaper nor do we get featured on the nightly news. Don't let the media convince you that morality is gone the way of the dinosaur. It hasn't.

If you are only 21 and you feel this way, then may I say that I am so proud of you. It is becoming less commonplace for younger people to feel as you do because the morals in this country are going down the toilet. I am 45 and I have seen a huge decline in the morals during the last 10 years or so also. Things that would have been shocking, rude or just plain wrong a few years ago are now commonplace and acceptable. I want to commend you on your good moral fiber. Keep it up. I think you are a fine example to others.

Cite? They've always been this bad... sometimes far worse.
The fact that you're only 21, means you can't really compare to much... the 60s thru the 90s had much of that, though it's it seems you're *very* prudish, so you would likely have been complaining no matter when you were 21. Try lightening up.

I'm a bit younger than you but, 10 years ago my life seemed like it was better. People are so enthralled with trying to be gangsta, doing stuff that rappers rabble about in their "music". I don't understand why people don't realize that somebody who done 10 for selling drugs or stealing could be a bad influence.

Yes they were. You're just ten years older and thus more aware of it, and people aren't interested in hiding it any more.

Every generation condemns the next as a bunch of heathens with no morals.

What era would you suggest we go back to? Pre-civil rights when we had separate restrooms and water fountains for Blacks? Or further back when women were not allowed to vote? Or even further when we had slaves? Perhaps back to mid-evil days when there were serfs and Kings. Or Roman times?
People have been stealing, killing, raping, screwing since the beginning of human existence. And I happen to like short skirts, low-risers, and tight jeans.
