And don't you think your fanaticism is just as bad as any Jewish or Islamic extremists?

Why do you think it is right to execute people after holding them on death row for years on end? Christ would be disgusted with your so called "take" on Christianity. Two wrongs don't make a right! Hell has a place reserved for you I am sure.

Some really hysterical answers so far. Please keep them coming! Nice to see all of the Conservative Christians cursing my name (LOL)!

Let me add something to this question...
why do the Conservative Christians seem to want to influence politics? I thought the USA had a secular one, not a religous one of zealots & zionists?

Left Wing Liberal? Just call me McCarthy! I thought the USA had freedom of speech, obviously not.

Yes, but we aren't living in ancient Israel are we? Christ preached forgiveness towards your enemies, he didn't say "Kill 'em all". Sure it's not right to kill people, but by killing them ourselves we are as guilty of murder as they are.

Shawn D...........
"Executing people on death row after years is evil, it is very wrong. They should be executed with in days or weeks, not months or years. When you wait around that long, justice is being denied, and we start becoming less civilized. No proper civilized society is going to permit someone like that to live and drain society's resources, denying proper justice to the victims (which includes the general public)."

So why is the USA the only Western Nation still to have a death penalty? As I said two wrongs don't make a right.

Religion is screwing up the USA & this shouldn't be allowed to happen.

What makes you think I think abortion is right? That's the same as killing someone on death row...two wrongs don't make a right.

Because Christianity, just like everything else in America, has become a comodity, there to make money from. The Christian religion in the States has been hijacked by that ugly, vacuous, hypocritical 20th Century abberation which is the Television Evangelist, whom are nothing more than slick salesmen peddling Christianity for a quick buck. Here is a prime example:

I don't mean to be rude, but Americans are deeply insecure people, who struggle when it comes to free thought and self determination.

No other nationality in the world has so many shrinks and analysts to tell them what to think; or dieticians to tell them what to eat; or personal trainers to tell them when to exercise; or plastic surgeons to tell them what to snip. In spite of all that Land of the Free crap they keep banging on about, they are a very indoctrinated people - the original sheeple - and they simply refuse to see it happening before their very eyes.

It's little wonder that big-mouthed psuedo-Christians with fake tans and sharp suits make an impression on them. And it is little wonder that George W Bush has been able to trample all over the democratic principles which were the cornerstone of the American Constitution - and continues to do so as we speak.

One day they may wake up. But I fear it will be too late by then. It is very very scarey.

I'm not Christian nor an American so I'll leave your somewhat lame issues with those aspects to others... but you wrote:

"Left Wing Liberal? Just call me McCarthy! I thought the USA had freedom of speech, obviously not."

This just about sums up what you think like. What exactly is happening here? You exercise your free speech rights and post a question here. Someone takes issue with what you said exercises their own rights to free speech and calls you a "left wing liberal" (which, given the circumstances, sounds like a fairly accurate label of your views). Then you, as a response to that person, again exerciseing your right to free speech, bring up MCCarthy and suggest that your rights to free speech are being curtailed merely because someone called you a NAME?!

Let me give you a suggestion: If you want to make a point, try making it using well reasoned arguments. Otherwise, nobody will take you seriously.

give the world a couple more 9/11's, Katrinas, you will see how close the christian and muslim extremists really are. And i use the word extremists very carefully, sorry in advance to any christians who just happen to be conservative. I mean no offense. then again, you put up with them! It would be very interesting indeed if hell existed and had a special place for people who twisted spiritually so badly.

There is no such thing as a right wing Christian. Anyone who had read and understood Jesus' teaching would realise that he was a socialist and a bit of a rabble rouser. Good candidate for Guantanamo.

Fanaticism is always dangerous. That goes for all religions, vegetarians, vegans, carnivores etc.

I should know, I'm a fundamental agnostic and fanatical about it.

The USA is one nation, under God, amoung other good and wholesome things. So right-wing conservative Christians belong here. What exactly are right-wing conservative Christian fanatics? It seems like everytime I hear that term, they point to some extreme left-wing outfit. They are left-wing on all points in all things at all times, but are called right-wing why? Even if they say they believe in God, well liberals lie, denying the truth is the heart and soul of being liberal, who does not know this by now?

What is a Jewish extremist? I can't think of a bunch of Jews who go about doing really bad things to a group of innocent people. Do they even exist?

Islamic extremists, you know what, I am not so sure they exist either. Everytime you see one of them blow up a bunch of innocent children or just the public in general, they seem to be your average, every-day Koran-believing Muslim. I mean when that one guy in Pakistan shot that woman official, they said that he was not an Islamic extremist, and I believe the media (for once) on this point. This guy was known to burn the face of off many women with acid, and the media had this information when they declared him an average Muslim. So how can you pick them out from your average Muslim?

True, in the US, and other civilized nations, the Muslims are not so bad, so here we would call them extremists, when in fact they would be "average" in an average Islamic country.

Executing people on death row after years is evil, it is very wrong. They should be executed with in days or weeks, not months or years. When you wait around that long, justice is being denied, and we start becoming less civilized. No proper civilized society is going to permit someone like that to live and drain society's resources, denying proper justice to the victims (which includes the general public).

People who kill innocent people, violently, with malicious intent, and who are very likely to keep on doing it, they have no place in society. Keeping them locked up for the rest of their lives as criminals in jail is more inhumane than executing them.

I don't want to see the guy who goes around raping little children, killing their umpteenth victim, and will do it again in a minute if they could, alive and well.

...Christian are certainly allowed to speak their minds and may influence politics, just like anyone else. Why does this disturb you so, that they would exercise their Constitutional rights? Are you one of these pretend "tolerant" types?
...God has ordained government and given the government the right to punish evildoers (Romans 13). Execution for murder was given by God before the Law was given.
...On what, sir, do you base your ideas? What is your authority - is it your own mind?
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved. Acts 16:31
...Whosoever will, may come.

Why are there so many left wing Liberal athiest (if that's what you are) fanatics in the USA?

You don't honestly mean to tell me you think Christians are responsible for people being on death row? All of our judges, jurors, lawyers, etc. are Christians? That's news to me!

And of course, we wouldn't want murderers, child-rapists, serial killers, etc. to take any responsibility themselves for being on death row!?

I think perhaps YOUR so-called take on not only Christianity, but people in general is ignorant. Your tirade makes no sense at all.

Why are there so many atheists in a country that was founded by Christian men and on Christian principles? This is a Christian country and Christians belong here! I will tell you why it is right to execute criminals who have been on death row and found guilty of crime. Because in a moral and decent society we put a value on INNOCENT human life and to allow one to take another life would cheapen innocent life and make it easy for one to go out and do it again! This concept is called JUSTICE! Therefore, one must ask for the life of the person who murdered another! In ancient Israel if one killed another person they would have to pay with their own life! This was God's law! God views innocent life as precious and we should have the same view.Ask the survivors of the victim what should be done to the person who murdered their loved one! What about the prevention of crime? If life is made so cheap that a criminal has no penalty for taking life, don't you think we are headed for a huge increase in the rate of homicides committed? Hell is reserved for those that break God's law. For instance, the one that says "thou shalt not kill"! Oh, I am a Christian but do not consider myself a fanatic! For it is God who made our country great! That is why it says on our money, "In God We Trust"! God bless America!
