Adam and Eve did have physical bodies and what they did was definitely not for the good of humanity.

I think the whole adam and eve thing is just symbolism, jesus always told stories rather than straight up because people were simple and wouldn't understand otherwise. Its like saying that given the choice people will choose the self destruct option because they think they can get something for nothing.

I don't! They sinned against God and this is why we are all struggling in life and I don't see this good for humanity. Who says we would not be here? No one knows what God's plan would have been if they had not eaten the fruit from that tree. Might I add, they did have physical bodies.

I think they had more neutral wonder of life as just two humans. Things went bad or whatever as the genesis goes. I have a perception that other strands of humans or species compatible people were found in even more ancient times.

Adam and Eve had physical bodies, BEFORE they disobeyed. [ ate of the tree]
It was God's intention for them to BE physical and beautify and maintain the earth.
they could not do this as simply spiritual creatures.
Anyway, God already had plenty of angels for that role.
By disobeying and causing us all to inherit having to die, they did us NO favours.

Allah .SWT. told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply this was before they fell short of the Glory of Allah .SWT. the world could have been perfect. but Allah is the all Knower and He knew what He was going to have to deal with. He knew the shayton (satan) wouldn't leave well enough alone. Allah .SWT. knew that the shayton had to have chaos. that's how we got free will...it started with a forbidden tree. Adam and Eve had the free will to trust that Allah .SWT. said NO. they were perfect too until shayton got to them...then they knew their nakedness and was ashamed.

I don't care for the Adam and Eve myth much, I prefer the one that features Adam & Steve.

Maybe so, but if she is responsible for the pain of childbirth, then (having delivered two children naturally) I'm pretty mad with her anyway!
