Apparently they have no regard for the truth; none of the other religions you cite pose a threat to their disbelief and general misery. Christianity does.

How sad that you are being hounded by non-compassionate atheists, but perhaps a shift of perception is in order. I don't know who is e-mailing you, but clearly those who do, are not the ones who live in peace with their choices and belief systems, as they would not feel a need to be destructive and dishonor or disrespect anyone else's belief system. There are many atheists who choose not to believe in God, yet do not impose their will unto others. Perhaps they wish the same to be true of other religions-that they not impose. I wonder if Christians have been most targeted because they are the ones who proselytize the most. Other religions go about their business and do not seek converts with the same fervor. Also, the Christian religion has gotten affiliated with the Bush administration and they are looked upon as having made a hugh mess of things. Having said all that, I believe that everyone, as human beings would serve humanity better if they offered respect to one another, irrelevant of their personal belief systems.

Think logically...Could it have something to do with that Christians send everyone else to hell-think about it, just WHO is doing the spitting? If Christians were a peaceful religion they would not be going off to foreign lands and thrusting their ways down native throats as if they were force raping them. And they wouldn't be power hunger in wanting to take over a nation politically, etc. The Christian religion is one of CONTROL, not love and concern for the well-being of others. How can you see Satan in other people just because they don't believe what you do, or you want them to. That is not God, that is a deep insecurity. God would want love and peace among all without any labels. Leave the atheists and everyone else alone and they will leave you alone. But push people up against the wall and they will vomit on you. Sounds logical.

I tend to use Christianity in examples and so on, simply because it's the religion most people reading my answer will be most familiar with.
I'm more tolerant of beliefs like Paganism and Wicca because they:
a) Don't encourage actively converting people.
b) Don't enforce a strict system of specific outdated rules.
c) Don't start wars.
d) Don't interfere with politics.
I'm wary of 'trash talking' Islam too much because I've witnessed many Christians who do so out of anger, and I wouldn't want my criticism to reinforce that hatred.

I don't like any religion, but you are right, christianity is a particular non-favorite of mine. I think it is because they are constantly trying to force their views on others and because they are so vocal in their condemnation of anyone who doesn't agree with them. I've never been told that I am going to hell by a jew, buddhist, hindu, pagan, wiccan or native american, but it is almost a daily occurance on here. I've also had that thrown in my face by christians out here too, including my family, who can't accept that I don't believe the way they do. Other religions are more tolerant of others and so are more tolerated. When christians understand that, they will get more sympathy.

I don't consider it "spitting" on Christians to resist their attempts to make me and everyone else live by the tenets of their religion.
I don't have "deep respect and admiration atheists have for wiccans, pagans, native american beliefs". I think all magical thinking should be abandoned (not abolished). It's dangerous to put your faith in deities that don't exist.
For example, if you skip medical treatment that has been scientifically proven to work (such as antibiotics) in favor of faith healing or magical spells, you might die.
I do NOT "hate all Christians", but I do get angry with the hypocrites, the charlatans (faith healers, for example), and the people who try to control my life (what I read, who I love, etc.) If I have to point out flaws in their belief system to stop them, I will do it.

We don't "practically spit on Christians, but love other religions". Do notice that the rest do not bother us in any way... including evangelism. Should they do unto us what you guys are doing unto us, we'd do the same to them too. Also note that the more adamant you guys are into changing us, the more we deliberately refuse to change. We believe in living by example, and most of us, while not entirely sinless or religious, have been able to live our lives without using religion as a shield to defend our thoughts and actions. If you guys can't do it, then you shouldn't be bothering us in the first place.

I think its because A) Christianity is one of the biggest religions out there so people like to pick on things they are jealous about, but it could also be B) it has a history of child molesting and killing thousands and thousands of women for the reason that their god told em so. also it could have something to do with the threats of "raining hell fire" and such for the non believers. You should believe in something cuz u believe it in you heart, not because you are scared of "the wrath of god" or better yet, Spite ( which the christian god is well know for having)... i dont hate Christians ( i think everyone has a right to believe as they want) i just think you should have all the facts before u go off believing in virgin births and resurections...

Seems to me that the ones you state as us not liking much are the dominating religions in the world...
Do minorities not say stuff about and have a little bit of bitterness towards whites? Do all those of us of middle class and lower incomes not pick on the rich celebrities and others sometimes?
Most minority groups (be it race, religion, social), or those deemed to be "less" then another, tend to be this way to the dominating majority they have to live under and deal with.
Same deal.

Let's look at this logically.
Christians come here proselytizing and advocating for their faith and telling everyone they are going to hell.
Jews don't come here and proselytize.
Taoists don't.
Hindus don't.
Buddhists don't.
Pagans don't.
Wiccans don't.
Native Americans don't.
Who comes here and claims to have a direct handbook from God and tells everyone they must believe or perish?
Christians and Moslems, mostly Christians.
Who of the two is actually the most abysmally ignorant of their own religion? Got to give it to the Christians.
Even the Moslems don't come here telling everyone they're going to hell without the Prophet. That's something you Christians do.
And who comes here again and again with the "I'm being victimized!" whining?
That would be you again.

Christians are arrogant in that they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. And atheism is not a movement, its a non-movement as atheists do not gather together in groups to proclaim their righteousness. I don't hate christians or anybody for that matter, but I have more respect for religious people with the modesty to have common sence in regards to religious discussion. Like my mom.
