A question came to mind, from a reply i got. Now depending on if you believe it or not. In G1 v 26. The question is:
"And God said lets make Man in OUR image, after OUR likeness"
I want you to pay attention to the word OUR image & OUR likeness.
Is it possible, that these are where we get the different races from? Think about it. OUR, many, more then one person or thing.
A group of person or things. And each one made man in their own image.
As to OUR image. they combine it together, to create man. Which brings me to G-2 Adam was formed by God, and put into the garden ,to care for it.
As to man in G-1. their soul puppose was to multiply the earth.
As to Adam, who's soul pupose, was to serve God. Not Gods, but God.
And take care of Gods garden,
Not their garden, but Gods garden. referring back to G-1
Interesting concept, don't you think?
Now if that be the case, then, Life was given to Adam, to live upon the earth. Simply, to worship God.

I laughed for about 5 minutes after reading this article. I thought it was hilarious and I was also relieved to realize that America is not the only country with nonsensical fundies.

when atheists themselves have yet to crawl out of their parents basement and walk upright on land? When they evolve a backbone and start to become hardworking, productive members of society....then maybe they will get me to convert, but i wont hold my breath.

For all of you who DO NOT worship Jesus, but think he probably actually existed, what was his purpose in the grand scheme of things? That is, if you think there might be a grand scheme of things... I guess I'm asking you to tell me what purpose he served for the world, humanity, society, etc. and possibly why.

It's a very open-ended question. Personally, I think he gave us as a society a reason for hope in a dull, cruel world that lacked knowledge and technology. While that has sustained us for 2000 years, I think his usefulness is running out, especially when all the "end times" predictions never happen. I think his purpose was to create a foundation for believing in a better world.

I am a student at heritage high school and was witness to the events that took place when the students were suspended for praying during school hours. I have read the reports made out, and in all of them, it is made to sound like they were blocking a hallway, when in fact they were not. They were in an area of high traffic but not in the middle of it. They were off to the side. I believe that it was wrong to punish them for what they were trying to accomplish. I just want to know others reactions to this event. If you want to read about the story you can find it at this site: http://www.columbian.com/news/localNews/03022007news110888.cfm

Is this an act of faith to be commended, or are they just being silly? Do you respect them for standing up for what they believe, in a way that harms noone else, or should they just get over it?

I assume that most people would think that Buddhism is a very good moral code to follow and it has the benefit of not having a God or annoying followers trying to convert and no threats of eternal damnation.

Do you think Buddhism is a good alternative to theist religions? Or is it just another way of controlling people who can't think for themselves? Would you be interested in being one yourself? I am not a Buddhist by the way, you can look at my previous answers if you want to know what I am.

Note: These are not my own beliefs, I am merely posing the question because I am genuinely interested in what people think.

Earlier I asked:

What would it take for you not to believe in god?

If you say that nothing would shake your faith, do you have blind faith?

If so also give reasons why you think blind faith is good.

If not please tell why your unshakable faith is not blind faith.

Now most of the responses I got were similar to this:

"Faith is not blind. First you have faith, then you will see proof of it in answered prayers and insight."

My question now is: How do you know which god to put your faith into?

Isn't just assigning these "answered prayers" to any one god over another a leap of blind faith? How do you know that it’s your god that is answering your prayers? Could it not be another?

How does one determine which god has better "insight"? There are several religions that I think many people would say have "good" messages, how does one choose?
