I laughed for about 5 minutes after reading this article. I thought it was hilarious and I was also relieved to realize that America is not the only country with nonsensical fundies.

Thank you fireball226...for another one of your compeltely useless answers that in no way adresses the question. Could you possibly make it any MORE obvious that all you do here is try to colellect as many points as possible?

I figured it would be in Alabama or some such thing. At least the US doesn't get stuck with that one.

Many years ago, there was a movie out, (shown mostly in churches) regarding the rapture. It showed the people left behind with bar codes on either their foreheads or inside their wrists. The bar codes were put on there by the Anti Christ so that he could monitor them. That may be a reason. I can't remember the name of the movie because I was dragged to see it by my parents and I was only 6 or 7. It was a pretty creepy movie from what I remember of it.

Everyone wants to figure out what the "Mark of the Beast" is going to be.In the 1930s they thought it was the New Social Security numbers that just came out. Then it was credit card numbers then it was bar codes and now it is a computer chip they could put under the skin of your hand .Could be yes, could be no.Frankly ,I expect to either be dead or Raptured before that happens.People would be better off worrying about their Salvation rather than what will damn them.

The Bible says in Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. He who has knowledge let him get the number of the beast; because it is the number of a man: and his number is 666

If someone has this knowledge to understand the number, I'd like them to break it down for the rest of us who just dont see it. Show me how the barcode represents 666 - if someone can break it down, I'll listen and consider it.

Some Anthroposophists (Waldorf Schools are their most prominent outlet) think Supreme Demon Ahriman will incarnate (or has done so) in the Internet or computers. Lots of angels in computers, too. Not much of a difference...

Hmm, I'm Christian, but this does sound crazy! I know in the tribulation times, There will be lots of technology, and by them bar codes may be associated with your identity, so who knows, but being satanic? I would have to pass that one up!
However, I object to using the "Pay and go, finger scanner", that's just too much!

I just asked the same thing, and got a ton of good answers.

I agree with most of my answerers. I think its comendable they are standing up for their beliefs, and not harming anyone in the process, BUT for what we know about the Mark of the Beast, this isn't it, and that makes it kind of silly.

Yet more evidence that religion is shear stupidity and that concepts of sin should be banned for being using in any way legally. That's every bit as stupid as banning gay marriage based on the bible.

I think if more Christians spent their time doing what Jesus actually said to do, they wouldn't have time for this nonsense.
