it takes 666 meters to equal 41.383238636% of a mile.
consider that for a while.

America is not a christian nation. After the silly arguments about it on YA I looked up some info yesterday. Apparently when America was constituted in 1776 there were some wording problems that had to be adjusted 15 years later in the first amendment. The reason for the amendment was to reword certain passages in order to be certain of the protection of civil liberties, not to change the content. One of the concepts of the constitution was always the separation of church from state even though not neccessarily worded as such from the start. The fact that christianity has been allowed in schools up to now is unconstitutional and the tolerance for this is at an end.
Now what is REALLY funny about this (and why the above is appropriate) is that the pounds and inches system is known as the IMPERIAL system. As in British empire.
You might argue with at least a little justification that a predominantly christian America has retained the imperial system as christianity is static and atheism is progressive, and therefore this is an expected state of affairs. It is also true that the metric system is slowly taking over in schools and that christianity is on the decline in schools.

Woo. You're really stretching here.
The Metric system is a lot more accurate and simple to use. This has already been mentioned, but there are 36 inches in a yard, 1 760 yards in a mile...etc.
Accurate:
1 millimeter = 0.0393700787401575 in
Simple:
With the Metric system there are 10 millimeters in a centimeter, 100 centimeters in a meter and a 1000 meters in a kilometer.

FYI; mathematically the metric system (based on 10), tends to be much easier to use than the English system (used in America for the most part). Technically, neither system is 'biblical'. So what is your point currently?

The metric system makes sense, and was well thought out ahead of time to be so. The imperial measurement system was made this way:
'Ok... this is a yard. Why? Cause I said so...'
'This is an inch. How many in a yard? Lets see... um... 1... 2... 3... 4... 36!'
'How many yards in a mile? If I take my yard stick and flip it end-over-end for one mile I get....1760. Why? Cause I said so!'

How sad that someone seeks to link religion and a system of weights and measures. If God had anything to do with it then you would surely still be using the cubit?

In between starting world wars and slaughtering Jews they had a little time on their hands.
We can only hope to one day match their truly superior atheistic intellect.
