Does it drop down the back or roll from the front?

I posted the question "Does anyone know where QPR Ladies FC play their home games"
I got two answers:
1. "Yes". What kind of answer is "Yes"? Is that this persons level of humour? I can just imagine him rolling around in hysterics at his Hilarious answer..
2. "Put this question in google or Yahoo". Well of course i did this(like anyone would) but there is no answer there, that's why i put the question here....
Right i've finished now and i feel much better.

Maybe I just get too hung up about it... but it can get a bit awkward at times when you buy something at a shop, you have your bag over your shoulder, your wallet in one hand, then the person behind the counter puts the notes, coins and receipt in your other hand.

You fumble to get the coins in the right section of your wallet, then the notes, and there are people behind you waiting. Not wanting to hold them up, you walk over to the side somewhere holding money and wallet, then stuff everything in as fast as possible and fix it up later.

That or just throw all the notes and money randomly in your bag and don't bother about putting it in your wallet.

Why... why is it all so awkward? Is there some proper way to handle the change that the employee gives you?
I feel like I'm holding people up if I try to put it all in the right place. And I feel a bit silly walking around with money and wallet and everything else in my hand or just chucking it in my bag.

What in your opinion is the best and most professional way to handle the situation and what should I say to her when I confron her today?

Okay so yesterday I wasn't feeling well at all and my boss wouldn't let me leave, so I was trying to call my mother to tell her I was feeling well and as I was talking to my mom she unpluged the phone and started yelling me. Also this guy was sick as well and she let him leave. This women is so nasty to the other teenage girls that work for her, but she is always nice to the boys. I don't understand why she hates me, I'm one of the nicest people you could meet. Should I quit?

"Raise your glasses!" ..."What should we drink to?" Why do we do this?

If people were more polite to eachother and made less ruse ccomments which made people angry would this reduce crime. Should being rude to people be a crme and people arreted and jailed for one day for it. What about getting mad and killing them if they do would it be understood or would people continue to think being ruse is not their fault shoot the angry people and say ''HE/sHE went insane.''

Recently I was at a coffee shop with my son. We were at one of the tables having a conversation, joking around, enjoying ourselves and speaking at a regular volume however, a woman turns around and tells us she doesn't want to hear our conversation and says it in a way like she's got a horrible attitude. I know she has got to be a miserable person but I don't know why she thinks I will be her scapegoat.

I come accross these people every now and again and I don't know why they think it is o.k. to behave this way. When someone is minding their own business, not hurting anyone else they should be left alone. Whatever little thing they seam to think is irritating them does not give them the right to treat another like a piece of crap. Plus, if they have no consequences they will continue to do their best to make others as miserable as they are.NOBODY deserves unwarranted attitude. Why do people let others carry on this way? It is NOT o.k.People deserve common decency and nothing else.

I asked this woman, but as a top contributor, her contribution seems to be little.

My fiancé and I were at the bar for my friends birthday last night and my friend's best friend was there. I got along with her really well and we had a lot of fun. We all drank quite a bit and when we were leaving I patted her on the butt when I was hugging her goodbye, just joking around. My boyfriend freaked out when we got in the car and was like "What the hell was that?!?!" and wouldn't talk to me the rest of the night... was I totally out of line? No one else seemed to think it was a big deal.

My neighbor Joe and I share a mailslot. Two months ago, there was a letter for Mr. X in the mail. I don't know a Mr. X, so I put the mail in Joe's box. I did this for about a month. After a month, if Joe got home first, he would put Mr. X's mail in my box. When he did this, I realized that Mr. X did not live in our condo and the mail should probably just go in the trash.

So, the trend has been: If Joe comes home first, he puts Mr. X's mail in my box and I throw it away. When I come home first, I put Mr. X's mail in Joe's box, and he throws it away. Until this Saturday. I got the mail first, so I put it in Joe's box. When I saw my mailbox again that day, Joe had put Mr. X's mail in my box. I put it back in Joe's box- being playful. Later, Mr. X's mail was in my box with a note "do not put this in mail box." I don't want a war with Joe, but I won't be bullied either. Why is it ok for him to put Mr. X's mail in my box, but I can't? I want to ignore him. Its just mail. Advice?

So for those who heard about the whole Hallie Berry story ( for those who haven't: on a talk show she was showing some digitally modified pictures of herself and commented on one where she has a big nose that that was her jewish cousin and now everyone is making a massive deal out of it). Don't you think people are overreacting here?

I mean if i showed you a picture of myself with an afro and said "This is my black cousin" (because obviously black people are known to have very curly hair, just like jewish people are known for their prominant noses) would you get offended? Or am i the only one who finds this whole story a bit crazy?

I am planning a party and I believe I can fit 40-45 people in my house. Other people involved in the party planning have compiled an invitation list of 89 people. If we invite 89 I believe more than 45 will show. I told them it is crazy to invite so many when we can only fit 45 maximum. How many would you invite?
Possibly your feedback can show them that they need to cut the list down to a reasonable number. I feel I am being pressured into something I know is not going to work out.

What are your opinions?

2007-10-28 13:28:07 · 14 answers · asked by Anonymous

Some more specific questions:

Do you thank people who take the time to thoughtfully answer your questions?

Do you normally thank people who hold a door open for you?

Do you normally thank waiters/waitresses and bagboys/baggirls?

When you call a company, do you thank the represenatitve after the conversation is finished?

It seems to me that social conventions surrounding the use of "thanks" are changing. If you answer any of the questions above, please explain why or why not.

Thanks everyone!

You are talking to a pretty young lady. You really want to impress her. You never thought that you would get the chance but here it is. Everything seems right. The mood, timeing, music, atmosphere. She says something funny and you lightly laugh through your nose and then SUDDENLY!!!! THE LARGEST MUCUS BUBBLE THAT YOU HAVE EVER BLOWN THROUGH YOUR LEFT NOSTRIL HAS JUST MATIRIALIZED, GROWN TO THE SIZE OF A PING PONG BALL, AND EXPLODED IN SUCH A WAY THAT YOU KNOW THAT SHE MUST HAVE EVEN FELT IT ON HER FACE.

What do you do to save the moment?

An Australian barmaid was sacked and fined, along with the manager, after she crushed beer cans between her bare breasts and hung spoons from her nipples in the bar. Is this really so terrible?
