Put it all behind you and start over. Question: Do you really want to be nice? Then tomorrow morning, give it a shot. Do the ladies know that you were being rude? If they do then be nice and apologize. But do this on your own prodding and not by the suggesting of others. Do it when nobody is expecting it. That way, it will be all your idea. Remove the prick label from yourself. Remember, you want to be nice now. It may be hard to do. But pride is one of the factors that can keep you from healing from this. You sound like you feel like you have been placed on a high pedestal only to have your rudeness displayed to everyone. And now you feel that you are being forced and humiliated into making a public apology. Everyone's eyes are on you.

Now lets put it all in a nut shell. Maybe you made a mistake. Its that simple. And a simple mistake can be corrected in a simple way.

If you are truly justified in your reasoning, then you are not bad.
