to me one day. lol

Tonight we went out and the service was horrible. I did pay for my meal.
It took awhile to get a waitress who presented someone that was shadowing her. Then someone different brought the food. Then we never saw her for a long time and finally she came with the bill. No one cared to even refill our drinks and I had to get another waiter to wait on us to get me something. My husband ordered the salad bar with dinner and asked the girl working there for some lettuce --as it was empty. She said she was not on the clock and went on putting up new plates while a new bowl of lettuce sat right there beside her. So my husband sat down and then he went to her and just stood there staring at her and the bowl until she put it up. She was in no hurry. She just stood there putting up plates. I had the money to pay in my hands and when asked how my meal was I just said the service was horrible. The manager offered me dessert which I did not want.

wouldn't you think this is mean & inappropriate?
especially when she says "you'll get more gifts" & "your aunts are too old to travel." my "old" aunts travel often & driving or being driven less than 1hr away is not asking too much.

I have recently had a lot of back pain which is related to my job. I work at a retail store, have been there for about 2 years, and recently moved to work in hardware. Ever since I started working in hardware I have had a lot of problems with my back due to the lifting involved. (I have to put out all the freight, lift all the paint, etc, and I am a small framed female) This has really done a lot of damage to my back. I went to my doc and got pain medicine and had 5 days of temporary leave. But as soon as I returned to work and had to lift the pain was back. I talked to my supervisor about moving to a different area where I will not have to lift, and he said it was possible but I will have to take a pay cut. I also asked about staying where I am but only doing the light lifting and he said I had to have a doc note and be registered with the disability place.
I really dont like working here and now I'm really wanting to just quit. Do you guys think I should put in my two week

If you're in a crowded college lecture taking notes on your laptop, and you just laid a "silent but deadly" fart... what do you do?

They are not doing anything illegal, just basically living.....but that just makes it even harder to make them stop.

I am living in Paris, and the walls (and ceilings are pretty thin) also we have a fake wooden floor than doesn't muffle any sounds.
The family above my bf and I is a family with some (at least one i dont know)....but ever day, we hear continuous 4 year old running . this kid must have unlimited energy, and the apartment is not even that big, I don't know how he runs everywhere. And it is loud and clear....every day.... other daily sounds we here are chairs scraping across the floor, high heels clacking all around, and something that sounds like a bowling ball being dropped on the floor (seriously, i dont know what they're doing...)
to make it worse i have a mezzanine bedroom very close to the ceiling, and they are very early risers, so they have woken me up plenty of times.
we have written them a letter under their door, but nothing has changed.... what should i do?

I don't have many guy friends. The ones I have are gay or social outcasts. What do guys like to talk about with girls who are aquaintaces? How should I approach a guy in the classroom? Im not shy, I just need help as I find myself arguing with guys or being made fun of by them.

When women wear very low cut tops, they expose themselves every time they bend over. Are women doing this on purpose? They'd have to be stupid not to know their breasts are falling out of their shirt. And is it OK if I stare? I'm a boob man.

The other day I was walking back from the store and saw a dead squirrel in front of a neighbour's driveway. The body was still in tact and not destroyed by oncoming cars yet. So, I went up to tell the owners of the house it was in front of. They said 'Thank you and it's ok'. I assumed they meant they were going to call someone or perhaps clean it up themselves. The next day it was still there but squished by ongoing traffic beyond recognition.
I feel that this was really disrespectful to the poor squirrel. The owners of the house where it was killed should have had the respect to move the corpse to a safe place before it got run over again. What do you think?

I hv experienced many times that when some people made an appointment, they cld conveniently change their mind of not coming at the last hour /day over a lame reason... like not feeling so good, i decided to take somebody somewhere... etc.

When i make an appointment i will try my best to keep it... that appointment is more important cos i hv promised someone. I wldnt let any trivial matters change that. But many people i met were not so. Are you a person of your words?

First off I must STRESS, I’m not talking about people that are on business travel. I understand people on business doing it. I’m talking about people that are close to home & decide to go to a restaurant alone.

I just don’t understand the following steps one goes thru when eating alone:

- decides to forego the food in their home (if no food it would make sense to go to a grocery store)
- actually gets in vehicle and drives to restaurant
- asks to be seated for ONE

Now as your seated, what the hell do you do when as you wait for the meal?

Then the meal is served and you simply eat it… What is the point?

To me, going out to a restaurant is a chance to talk with someone & enjoy intelligent conversation over a meal. Going alone, you are just fulfilling the act of eating. Sounds like something a caveman would do.

Not to mention, there are no booths for one or tables set for one.

Someone please explain?

Check this out:

I was at a bar last night and started talking with this very attractive older woman. Not much older than myself. Anyways, I ended up meeting a couple of guys that was friends with her and we were having a good time, shooting the breeze and whatnot. I made a sarcastic remark about the game we were watching and I guess she didn't get my dry sense of humor so he kind of rolled his eyes and she looked funny.....
Then a few minutes later they left and she pulled him away and just said "BYE" without blinking an eye and the guy looked back at me like "I'll be right back". I wanted to get going because I didn't want to get home too late, so I left........since i left I said bye to him and then, because it really bothered me because it made me feel another woman was treating me rudely after I was nice to her

I said "Thanks for inviting me". Then she goes "Oh, you're welcome."

I don't think she got it. You think she knew I picked up on that she didn't want me

Of course this question is directed at women...I am an exec assitant, I called a delivery company about a delivery that was not made when it was supposed to be made, and delivery instructions were not followed at all. A man answered the phone and said to me, after I explained what had happened, "Just a minute young lady...." I answered, "my name is not young lady it is Melissa" I think it is condescending to call a woman over the age of 18 "young lady", especially when that woman is an angry customer calling your place of business. Yes, I was already irritated when I called, and I doubt my male co worker would have been called :young man" had he called.

At the gym today in the showers, a european student asked me and someone else if it was alright if he were to get an erection to clean himself better. The other guy seemed fine with this, so I had to. Is this weird? Does anyone else do this? Am I just too conservative?

I went to the layout of a dear friend today. She died after a long illness. I was out of control of my emotions and could not stop crying...and I was the only one there doing that. Even her kids were in better shape. Knowing that her kids will be reading poems to her at the service, and there were many other highly emotional things planned, I decided not to attend the funeral itself. I knew I couldn't go through with it and not be hysterical. So I said my goodbyes and came home. (layout was all morning- funeral is going on now someplace else.) Now I feel so guilty that I didn't go, and it's too late to go back. Is it ok to decide not to attend the funeral service if you know you won't be able to conduct yourself well?

Please don't be cruel here. I just got back from her layout and talking to all her family and other friends. I'm still just sobbing.
