My neighbor goes to a tanning booth, and she says they are having a free afternoon for 1 session for any member who brings a guest. She told me about it and said to me...'I cannot think of anyone else who needs some color more than you!'
I told her I was not interested...but later was trying to think of a good comeback if she says something like that again.Any ideas?

How do you tell someone he/she is not doing their job and they should find another job without hurting their feeling?

A young friend of mine is getting married at the end of November, she has been setting up her own wedding (to save money) and handling all the details with her fiancé. This week she received notice from her family members stating that due to their ‘Christian’ beliefs, they will not be attending her wedding or her reception.

This is something I simply do not understand. This woman isn’t a complete radical; she’s not a nudist, she doesn’t live in a hippy colony, she doesn’t sell drugs or internet porn, she doesn’t even broadcast her religious beliefs unless you pin her to the wall. I can understand not wanting to participate in a religious function if it would conflict with your own; but to totally refuse to attend your sisters, daughters, neice’s, or cousins wedding and reception simply because you are Christian and she isn’t totally astounds me.

I was wondering if I am missing some kind of ethics, or if this young lady’s family just has bad manners.

i bought a top from ebay. I bought it for something like $19.50 and it retails for about $55. The top is brand new with tags but it is white.

So... i received the top in the mail today and because it is white it has make up on it where someone has tried it on before. It is mainly on the inside but there is some on the front as well...

Should i leave positive, negative or neutral feedback? I dont want to be mean and im sure the make up will come out in the wash somehow

I had a baby in July and got lots of nice gifts for her and her big brother. I would like to get some cards printed with a picture of them kissing with "Thanks" as a message, and write a short hand note on the back. Is this too impersonal?

my son's 1st birthday in Jan07 was small, just close family and his one friend, subs and cake at home. then when summer hit, everyone else started having these big 1st birthday parties, where our family were invited too, even though we aren't so close.

i just don't know what to do about his 2nd birthday. am i being rude to have something smaller at home and not invite our friend's and their families? is it kind of tradition now that we all go to each other's parties, so i should make it include everyone?

A man that you really like even though he did something really tacky at my place of business and made me look bad?? We have a lot of things in common but I think he may have a different perspective about what is right and what is wrong. He tried to take something that didn't belong to him and when I approached him about it he got kind of defensive instead of understanding the whole situation and why it was not right-what he did.

I think it is absolutely disgusting for a person to pass gas in a car with the windows rolled up or rolled down -- it doesn't matter. If you feel that sick, well hey, pull over, let it out and then air out before you get back in the car. Nothing grosses me out more than a person who does this.

My sister and I have just moved into an apartment complex. Our neighbors upstairs have dogs. They let their dogs do their business on their balcony and then they sweep it off. It lands in our back patio. While I don't have a problem with dogs it is really disgusting. We don't have dogs and don't want to clean up their dogs' messes. We just moved in and don't want to make enemies. It's just really disgusting and it also smells.

I work at a fast food restaurant..when there is bad people that come in..you get the worst...lol. But there was a black trucker that came in. Nice lookin and stuff...seemed nice. I'm not racist...or anything. Because I dont even live around any kind of different races unless they are foster kids...you know.
ANYWAYS...he ordered something...gave me his money..and when i said his change was 15.03 im use to people just reaching out their hand holding out their hand. We were kinda busy in the drive through so i just laid his money on the counter. Helped the other get the food. Well..after he got his order..he gave me this really bad look..i mean really mean look towards me. He was like "why did you lay my money down on the counter for" I thought he was just joking cuz he seemed nice. But he remained his ugly face...he said thank you to the girl that made his icee and just looked at me and walked out. I dont know what i did wrong...cuz i always lay the money if they dont answer.

He makes (sometimes in public) makes fun of my ethnic background. He just does it so many times. He even humiliated me in front of the whole class and the teacher did not say a word about it(or to him). What should I do? I don't wanna tell him that I don't want to hear it because it makes me sound.... "defeated" for some reason... I don't know if any of you understand what I mean by that... but, seriously, is there something I can do to stop him and doesn't make me feel "like i lost"? thank you

teacher was marking my assignment in class and she gave me 24/30...when she handed to back to me and i saw the mark i *sighed* (and it was quite soft) but she heard me and asked me what was wrong..when i told her that i expected to get at least 28/30 she then gave me a 20min lecture and told me to write a 2page essay (as punishment) on why i shouldn't undermine a teachers authority and teaching skills..
was i wrong to tell her that i expected more marks, because she DID ask me why i *sighed* and i wasn't even trying to be rude

My girl friend has been such a good friend to one of my "use-to-be" co-workers(girl, too). Anyway, my girl wants to make a scrapbook for her since the girl left the company I work for. Problem is, the girl who left the company is very busy with her new job and she doesn't really have time to get together right now. So, my girl wants to either send out the scrapbook to her, or ask the girl's room mate to hand it to her. Now, my girl doesn't know the girl's home address, so, if she decides, I need to ask HR for her mailing address. If she decides to ask her room mate to hand it to the girl, problem is, my girl and this girl doesn't get along well, so, not really sure if the scrapbook actually gets to her. What do you think we should do? Is asking HR her mailing address is appropriate or no? Need advise!!!

Site A

-45 mins away
-large room that can fit up to 300--very nice decor/up-to date
-cocktail hour, open bar, 4-course sit down dinner. Dessert
-Use of bridal suite
-Linens, Flower Centerpieces and Wine at each table is included.
Cost: $70 a person

Site B

-25 mins away
-room fits 150
-cocktail hour, open bar, 2-courses sit down dinner. No Cake provided
-No bridal suite
-Silk Floral Centerpieces included.
-No modern attire (not a horrible place. But, a little early 90's New Jersey style wedding decor)
Cost: $65 a person.

Site A is very well known for it's elegant ambiance and excellent food. It's a big far, but it's a good deal with LOTs for food. I'm just worried if there is any traffic 45min could be over an hour.

Site B is OK if you get to use a large room. We have 130 guests. So, we get the smaller room. I'm worried the food will be thin-especially with only 2-courses. But, it's closer.

Thoughts.

just transferred schools from California to NY, and stressing to move along and catch up with my classes (which I have successfully done up until today), my professor decided to yell at me. There was a paper that for the life of me I could not get to. And we are allowed to bring our laptops to class, but I suppose I shouldn't have abused that right to use it and make an outline for the other class. Thing is in this class, a film class, and I'm a literature major (although that shouldn't handicap me) I'm always lost. But I'm telling you transferring and adjusting hasn't allowed me to do much and I'm barely catching up. So while making notes during the lecture and this is a small room. The professor rises out of her chair and she literally raises her voice at me, "Are you writing notes for another class!? Or are you not paying attention to the lecture!??" And then launches herself into a 5 minute scolding as to whatnot. about paying attention. There I was ready to cry. So should i be mad
