My sister and I have just moved into an apartment complex. Our neighbors upstairs have dogs. They let their dogs do their business on their balcony and then they sweep it off. It lands in our back patio. While I don't have a problem with dogs it is really disgusting. We don't have dogs and don't want to clean up their dogs' messes. We just moved in and don't want to make enemies. It's just really disgusting and it also smells.

I would just tell your landlord. They can tell the tenants and leave your names out of the whole matter. Besides what's the worst they can do, throw poop on your balcony!

Lazy as$es that can’t take their dogs for a walk to do their business shouldn’t have dogs! That’s just plain rude and I would tell them that when they sweep the feces off of their balcony it lands on your patio. Any self-respecting individual would immediately stop doing this. If they don’t stop tell the landlord.

Talk to them about it. It's very inconsiderate that they are doing that but maybe they weren't aware that someone now lives below them. Also bring up that if they keep doing it the landlord would notice and possibly, as a result, ban dogs from the premises. Maybe stick some dog poo bags or something in front of their door too. just be polite and hopefully things go smoothly. Though if things don't improve, definetely tell your landlord

can i just say eww...i think the most important thing is to not be confrontational, because people are going to put up walls or react negatively when they think your insulting or criticizing them. so maybe if you introduce yourself, and say you just moved in. maybe continue on by saying, "I'm really sorry to bother you but I've noticed that when your cleaning up after the dogs that the discards tend to land rather unexpectedly on my patio. (insert laughter here, to loosen their guard). Unfortunately, even though its not too often that I see poo falling like rain from the sky after it lands it isn't so humorous. If you won't mind, could we think of an alternative?" or something like that... if talking to them after a few times doesn't work, call the manager and ask him/her what you should do.

That must end, immediately. I wouldn't worry about making enemies, you have done nothing wrong. Put a note on their door if you don't happen to see them in the building, and notify the landlord of the situation now.

Talk to them or tell the landlord! If they're that ignorant and rude, who cares about making enemies. I dealt with a similar situation, only it was baby diapers and toys falling... It's amazing how filthy some people are.

The thing about pollution is that the whole world has worked with the philosophy of "out of sight, out of mind." They just think of the dog poop as "gone" without really thinking about where it goes. (Kind of like dumping chemicals in rivers...)

HAHA i stay in Oakland California if I step exterior there'll be diverse gangs in basic terms status everywhere, 5 adult men on one corner, 5 greater in the path of the line combating autos and 10 greater in front of the corner keep. Let them know that this is happening ,as if they don't realize it.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and being very nice about it.
Then if they continue to do this, I'd smear it under their car door handles!!

Try that.
If that doesn't work then complain to the main office.
They should be picking it up with doggy doody bags.
