It is a mistake to try to change a person. If you don't like the habit that he has, find someone else who you can love without trying to change them. If you don't like his lifestyle, it isn't *him* that you love, but you may be "in love with love." Many people mistake the euphoria of endorphins for true love.
You say that you are unsure whether your bf is still dipping, even after he said that he has stopped. Clearly, you do not trust him to be truthful with you. If you can't trust him on this issue, you can't trust him to be faithful or to tell you the truth in far more critical areas of life. Without trust, there is nothing to build a relationship upon. Find someone who you can trust.

do not give up... there is nothing in this world that seems to be impossible to you.
Spend much more time with him give your unconditional love to him that may change his mind. Do what ever you want express in a way that touch with his heart. I think it is not possible to stop in a single day. So give him some time and be with him until he completely changes .
