I swear too much, especially when I am angry. How can I stop swearing and using the f word every other word?

What ways can I quit doing this?

I use to have a really bad problem with this myself! First, since I am a Christian I asked God for forgiveness. The I replaced the words with other cleaner ones, like when I want to say f***! I say "freak"!,s*** is Sheep ( thanks Evan Almighty!), and so on. It helps if you make them funny, because then you'll not only remember them but you can laugh at the situation that made you want to say them in the first place. Another thing that helps is if you stop thinking them. Get them out of you mind and they won't come out of your mouth!

Don't worry, I'm going through the same thing. Only with me, it isn't just the F word.
My approach is to substitute other words for the actual cuss word. It's been working pretty well, too! Instead of saying "motherf-----!", you could say what I say: "fudgecracker!" (that one gets on my boyfriend's nerves a little bit so I'm trying to find a different word to use =D). Also, instead of saying "son of a b----", I made myself laugh the other day when I said "son of a gopher!". I don't know where "gopher" came from, but it was much better (and funnier!) than what I could've said!
I used to cuss like a sailor, so this helps me a lot! Unfortunately, the only place I haven't been able to tone down my cussing is while I'm driving. I think I need anger management when it comes to road rage, LOL!

Good luck!

not to be mean but I noticed this on myself... know that and try to catch yourself that swearing has it's time and place for it.. it really doesn't sound cool swearing at work or a library or such..its okay to swear (I believe) just in moderation and depending on the situation. Plus it will give you a motive to find out new words which you can express yourself with when you are angry and it might even impress someone. instead of saying f you or f off fckn stuff like that I definitely know what you mean. Just stay committed, aware, truthful, and out of denial with yourself. You can even ask a really good friend to help you out. Hope this helped and hope you get out of this rut...P.S. It's good you caught on to this and noticed so don't feel soo bad =0)

Think before you speak and recognize that swearing makes people look uneducated and lower class. A well spoken person is viewed much more favorably.

Ask God for forgiveness first, then tell Him to help you.

If you swear, there must be a corresponding consequence for that. Ex, you will not eat in a day, ask someone to slap your lips or something like that.

Replace it with another word. For the "f" word, say "freakin'" instead. Hehehe.
