I believe the old adage that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. That being said, I love cooking meals for my boyfriend and taking care of him in general. In that sense I'm an old fashined gal. Being independent and self sufficient are also important to me. I have a full time & a part time job on the weekends. This, I suppose makes me modern. How do you see yourselves, ladies, and in your opinion, what do gentlemen prefer? Answers from both genders are welcome.

In our home everyone has a "place" they sit in the living room when watching tv. When my husband is not home, my daughter sits in his "place". Last night my husband and I went to the living room to watch tv (my daughter was already sitting) and the controversy started about who's "place" it actually was. She basically refused to give the seat to her father then stormed out of the room saying I'll just watch tv in my own room. To which we replied...that's a great idea! Are we wrong to expect a child to give up a seat to an adult?

I've been up since 5 o clock cleaning because my daughter is having a birthday party tomorrow & I want everything to look really nice and I've gotta do some baking and cooking this afternoon to get ready for the party.

My husband left for work at 6 and at 6:30 my doorbell rang. It was my neighbor. She comes over about every other day and usually stays for half an hour or an hour and talks about her son (who I don't even know). I try to be polite and just listen because she's very lonely.

Well, she said she came over because she saw my light was on so she knew I was up- who goes visiting at 6:30 int he morning? I hinted to her that I was busy cleaning house for the birthday party because I wanted to get stuff done before the baby woke up. She didn't get the hint.

It is now 9 a.m. and I JUST got rid of her..

Does everyone have a neighbor like this?

I was at my shopping centre today with my shoes off and as I walked past a group of people I heard them whisper, "Look, that guy has got no shoes on."
Then when I was waiting in a shop to be served and a new shop assistant came out and asked who was next the person beside her said, "The guy in bare feet is next."
It is as though my bare feet are the thing that most people notice about me.

Were having my daughters birthday at a place that has limited space. Would it be rude to write "Limited space: No siblings please", they are going to be sent out to all the children in my daughters preschool class. I say it is, my wife says it isn't.

My boss is an idiot, I work in a family owned business, I am their Assistant Mgr. He is the manager, he refuses to help any customers when they ask for the mgr, I must lie and tell them he lives out of state, when he is standing right there. I must fire whomever he doesnt like that day or write them up for not doing their job, after not being trained at all. I love the job, just hate him. I was told anyone who puts their family or school before this job can leave and go to he**. I am given duties, then taken away, like making the work schedule. I was told he must approve it, but when I ask him to approve it, he says no. He will just telll the employees from one day to the next when they will work (10 employees). I come in early every day and stay late- got yelled at for that, his wife said I was unprofessional, I am on salary and work needs to be done, but I get in trouble! She was yelling at me about how hard he works (about 4 hours a day, mostly on computer IM).

My husband and I were cleaning out our basement so, we decided to sell off some of the more decent stuff for some extra cash. We have never had any problems on Ebay. We always advertise the item as detailed as possible, with photos, etc. We have all good ratings.
Anyways, I had a lot of baby things from my daughters (the youngest is 6 now). I put up a stroller for auction. It originally cost $150 new. It was used for 2 years, the fabric and wheels were in excellent condition. It was stored in my basement though for about 2 years as well. In turn, it developed that musty basement smell.
I didn't feel like putting in the effort of cleaning it. So, I cut my losses and put it on Ebay for $1. I also advertised it as an item coming from the basement that WOULD require cleaning and that we were not responsible for this.
Some lady won the auction (it was up to $5). Then she went on vacation! We were nice enough to hold the item for her for 1 month until she came to pick it up.

I wear cargo shorts and a Tshirt that says nothing in particular on it most of the time and my hair is in fairly good order and i think i look normal and i dont smell bad and im not really ugly (as far as i know) and whenever i go to the library at my school(i go to college) i dont make any noise. The tables in the library are like twenty feet long and have multiple seats where people sit and study. Keeping this in mind, today i went to the library to study and i sat down at a table at the opposite corner seat from some girl my age who was sitting at the other corner of the table and she got up and left right away. Noone else sat down at my table for the rest of the time i was there. Other tables had people coming and going the whole time. I think theres some kind of mean spirited conspiracy in the library to not sit at my table. I can't concieve of any other reason. I might be wrong but thats not how the evidence looks. damn evil library bastards

My twin sister & one of my brothers tell me that something seriously bad has happened, & then they sound overly dramatic like it was the worst things in the world. & then when you ask what happened, they say, "Well, it's not that big of a deal." & then they sort of play mind games & waste my time. My brother just did that to me, & now I'm so annoyed! He told me about something bad happening in the family, & then he said if I find out, I won't be able to bear or handle it, & then when I asked what happened, he said it wasn't that big of a deal. He wasted 30 of my prepaid minutes of my phone just to beat around the bushes. If you don't trust me, then why do you waste my time to even START to tell me something? & my twin sister does this, too.

I work at a Japanese restaurant, and as of late, my boss (the restaurant owner) has been splitting tips with me and the rest of the workers. Yes, she helps out, but only about 15% of what the waitresses do... the rest of the time she's just talking with customers or eating and chatting with her friends that come in to eat. But when it comes time to split tips, she splits it evenly among herself and the workers! I can't describe how incredibly furious I am...........

If someone has been saying they will do something for you for almost a year but they still haven't got around to doing it yet, and keep making excuses e.g they have been busy.
