I see myself as a mixture of both. I think most men today prefer a mixture of both. They want someone that will "take care of them" but they also want someone that they dont have to take care of. Sounds like they get their cake and are eating it to.

I've always been pretty old fashioned when it comes to manners, etiqutte, and tradition. When people don't say "sir/ma'am", "excuse me", "thank you", etc. it just stikes the biggest nerve in me! Last year at the local fair, I must've been pushed and shoved 50 times and not one person said "excuse me"! It almost makes me not want to go this year!
However, I'm also a very independent woman because, not only am I part-time in school, but I also have a full-time job so I can support myself while I'm in school. My parents have told me that I can live with them and have them support me if I go to school full-time, but that would just hurt my pride more than anything. I don't like hand-outs.
My boyfriend and I live together and, like you, I like to make sure he's happy and that he has nice hot meals. I think that has more to do with women naturally having that "motherly" instinct =D.
Everything I have, I paid for or I am paying for. I don't like to be treated like the "little woman", but I also don't like a man who thinks I have arms and I can open my own door. I guess I'm a pretty good mixture of both!
Good question!

These days we have the luxury and freedom to be both. If we have learned ANYTHING from past generations its what to hold onto from the "good old days" and what to let go of and embrace modern principles. In my opinion (and I think my wonderful hubby will agree) men like an old fashioned woman when it comes to morals, the raising of our families and taking care of day to day life. They want a more modern woman when it comes to handling financial life, being an equal partner and of course...in the bedroom! No Victorian values there!
It's all about balance and being the best woman you can be...according to your own set of values and judgment.

a little bit of both, i don't think liking to take care of your bf/gf/spouse is an old fashioned notion, more people in the modern world need to take better care of the one they love.

I enjoy pampering my man (but he pampers me too)
I own my own house, I have 2 jobs and I do my own thing.
I do not think I will ever get married, I don't Need to.
