what's the best way to handle a girl who answers her phone on a date? Someone told me that if she uses the phone, take it from her and turn it off and to say you're with me. you can live for 4 hours without talking to your friends. another friend said that if she talks on the phone, don't call her and ask her out again. if she asks why, tell her she seemed more interested in her phone then me. what do you guys recommend? I have a date soon with a girl and I feel this might be a problem. there's no phone call she can't skip, I just don't want her talking 2 her friends when I'm entertaining her. what do I do if she starts talking?

When me and my buddies(usually around 8 of us),go out once a week for dinner, there's this one guy who never wants to just divide one bill, instead of making the waitress write separate tickets.
He says since he's a vegetarian,(who doesn't drink either),and he only gets a salad and a pop, while we all eat steaks, and drink lots of beer,(we really do love beer),that he doesn't think it's fair for him to have to chip in!(Ain't that the craziest thing you've ever heard?)
But,anyway, I just think he's being "CHEAP!"
We've been doing this weekly, for the past two years, and he's just now complaining!!!
How can I make him be a "man" and ante up? ???

I understand that they're providing a service, but that is the whole job...they are getting paid to make the coffee and put it on the counter and call your name out. They get an hourly wage for this don't they?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

My 2 month old son recently passed away and I have received so many sympathy cards. This may seem like an odd question but am I supposed to respond with a thank you to all of them? I have already sent thanks you to the funeral home and our town for donating services and gravesites. I am planning on sending thank yous to anyone who gave us money or helped us out but I am still left with 50+ cards. Under normal circumstances I would with no questions asked but this is a very daunting task for me right now.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Wouldn't a little note be better than a phone call saying, "Hi this is your niece who you haven't seen in 30 years"

I have been at my job for about six months.
I really like my job, and see myself moving up eventually.

The problem is this:
My boss (I am her secretary) is the worlds biggest gossip! She tells her co-workers and me personal things about her employees and I want her to realize that she is hurting people and herself. You know how gossip gets around!

She can be really nice, but she tends to tell me alot about others that seems to be crossing the line. I never repeat what I hear.

In the past she has gotten rid of employees who stand up to her. So I feel if I let her know how much it bothers me, she may do the same to me!

She retires in a couple years.

So I guess what I want to know is:
How do I cope with this women who is making me crazy??

A friend (we are not close, but friends) had a family member die. I do not know the family memeber, but they left behind a wife with 5 children. Should i put money in the card? I know when my father died, we really appreciated money and put it all towards a donation in his name. This persons brother died, and he doesn't live here in town, but i am wondering if i gave her money, if she would know to give it to her widowed sister in law?

So I'm back home now after some time away. Almost the first question everyone asks is if I have a boyfriend. That doesn't bother me. I know they're curious and trying to see what's new in my life. When I say no, then they ask why not. It infuriates me. It's almost like they're accusing me of pushing guys away. I haven't had a serious relationship in about 7 years and I'm fine with it. I've dated, but not met anyone I want to pursue anything further with. It doesn't bother me. I've had a ton of time figuring out who I am and what I want. So here are my questions:
1. Do you find it rude when someone ask "why not" when you say you're not in a relationship?
2. How do I answer/deal with someone who says "why not?"
3. Why is it so important to everyone else for me to be in a relationship? (Don't say because they want me to be happy because I am. Why can't they see that?)

I work in an office with mostly men in their thirties and fourties, Im the receptionist in a car dealer yet some wives are SO rude with me when they call the office and ask to speak to their husbands, they met me once or twice and never even spoke to me. It's not like I flirt with their husbands, sometimes we go to lunch together or have a drink after work but it stays professional, even one man told me his wife doesn't like me just by looking at me, so I wore a mini skirt and low cut blouse at the christmas party!! So what anyway, What's wrong and how can I fix this issue? thanks all!!!

Ok so get this. I'm on a diet, my work has free lunch every day, and I'm sturuggling to eat my "diet lunch" I brought and not get any of the catered lunch. My co worker knows this. So anyways I get to work this morning and shes saying she some how lost her breakfast on the way in and has none. So being nice I give her my banana. Lunch arrives around 10:00 and its a mexican place I love with guacamole I'm addicted to. I have to try hard to not sit there and pig out on it with some salsa. So with her knowing this also, she goes and gets some guacamole and chips early and eats them at her desk in front of me! We arent really even supposed to eat at our desks. I know she really likes them too, but dont you think that was kinda rude considering I gave her a banana when she had no breakfast??? Uhhhhh. Now I'm struggling even harder to fight the urge to not go get the guacamole when its right in front of me now and I can hear her crunching the chips!!! NOT nice!!

Okay I'm in a situation where an older couple from my sunday meeting asked if they can come over and me and my husband just moved into our apartment so we aren't exactly ready for guests but she is very insistant, has some mental problems like bipolar and paranoia and has flipped out on people before for putting off having them over. So anyways, they are in their 60's and we are in our 20's. I am not good with entertaining guests, let alone ones in such a different age bracket and I have no idea what to have for lunch. They will be following us home after our sunday meeting so probably 1pm, and I won't have time to cook but they will definately be hungry and I need some ideas on what to set out for everyone to pick at but be somewhat filling - not junk food - not expensive, and easy to make. I want to prepare it the night before so it's ready for that day and I'm just stumped. Even ready prepared stuff is great too from the store. If you have any suggestions I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Husband's friend has a wreck and is not feeling well. Has to stay at his ex wife's house until he feels better. Would it be weird if I baked him some brownies, muffins, cookies to take to him? We are going to see him tonight.

By the way, your answer doesn't have to be proper etiquette. I just didn't know where else to put this question.

He keeps parking in my spot. I work in the front office, he works back in shipping. I have parked in the same place for a year and a half. He started to take my spot last week and I have asked him nicely two times to not park in my spot, his response was that there are no names on spots. I am going to let the air out of his tires by the end of the day if he doesn't move!!!!!! He has been asked by his supervisor to park somewhere else. When I got to work this morning, there he was again! IN MY SPOT! How to I deal with this situation?
