Nothing wrong with an Australian accent. I'm sure most Americans will love it. Just be prepared to explain those cool words and phrases that are unique to your country. Good luck!

Americans are accepting of most all accents. After all we have many different accents here. We have the southern accent, east coast accents, Texas Accent, West coast accents, Great Lakes Area accents. Plus lots of immigrants that have accents from all over the world. So yeah c'mon up we'd love ta see ya.Just make sure you come here legally some of us have issues with illegal immigration.

I've moved here in the US from another country 8 years ago and I still have my accent...almost everyone I've encountered said that I have a cute accent...don't worry about your accent...Americans are so used to having different cultures. You'll be fine =)

Most Americans find the Australian accent quite charming. Be prepared though -- many of us are very deficit in geography and may ask you if you are from Great Britain or Canada. But, everyone will like it, don't worry!

it depends on how thick your accent is and where you're originating in Australia. Many Australians thought Steve Irwin's accent was fake, but he was actually just making it understandable to Americans. If you can do this (and being immersed in our culture long enough, you'll learn to) then most Americans think your accent is sexy and/or cute.

It depends on where you are going somewhat -- but on the whole Americans are very charmed by Aussie or UK accents. It matters more what you have to say than how you sound though. Annoyed by an Aussie accent alone -- I'd say almost never, except maybe in the South where they are always annoyed at most anyone different.

I like them myself. Seems it was the predominant accent I heard while in Vegas this past weekend. Quite honestly, I would much prefer an Australian accent than someone who does not even have a grasp of the language.

Americans love Aussie accents! That's why we like Outback Steakhouse and Geico commercials, they use actors with Australian accents and word choices.
