that you can't swallow, what is etiquette? What are you supposed to do? My mom always taught me to put a napkin to my mouth and discreetly put it in the napkin. I have had people tell me otherwise. What is the right etiquette?

Most guys and ladies out there who are outgoing in social places do not reflect the same in their homes. Infact they are monsters to their spouses and close family members including their own children. Do you members to this forum have any scientific proven theory about this social aspect?

Some of them are just fat. Most appear to just be lazy. Am I being too judgemental?

I don't even like to use a shopping cart if a handbasket will do. (I'm 66 and pretty healthy.)

I quit Girl Scouts a year ago after having to defend my beliefs on animal products, etc. Most of the troop was coverting to "veganism" or "vegetarianism". I begain to notice the lack of animal products in the menus for campouts. Once, I chose to eat my eggs with bacon, rather than "facon bacon". The leader came up to me when I was standing up for eating bacon (meat altogether). I said that God made animals for the main purpose of consumption(as I have been raised to believe from the Bible and religious studies) The Girl Scout leader (a mom of a fellow girl scout who started eating vegetarian foods) then said "Well, God made poo, are we supposed to eat that?" To get to my point, religious and food beliefs aside...was that ok for her, a supposed leader in society, to put down a younger member in society to make way for her own personal beliefs. Personally, I was offended as I always thought those kind of people were to be unbiased. Please give me your opinions.

I just got a new job working full-time (first job out of college---woohh!!!) Right now, I'm a waitress. My job starts on Monday and I'm not sure what to do about my current job. I work Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. But, I am available to work double shifts on Fridays and Saturdays (but rarely do). On Sundays I close the restaurant at 11pm.

I really need to keep my waitressing job for at least the first 2-3 weeks of my new job. My new job only pays every other week. So, I may not get a paycheck until the end of October (if they hold it, or if there are payroll issues)

I can't go a whole month without any income. However, I'm not sure if I should give my two week notice this week (as in tomorrow) or next week. I want to make sure I'm covered with some sort of income. I don't want to give my notice too soon. But, I also don't want to hold off and then have them scheduling me for hours I can't work, b/c of my other job.

I know it's a silly question.

I refered to two girls in my office as females and one of them though that it was disrepectful because it reduced them to medical terminology. We're all military so it's just natural for me to refer to females as females. No disrespect intended. Do you think she was over reacting or am I being a jerk?

Here's the thing. I'll start out by saying that I don't like to get sick. I can't stand it. If I can, I try to avoid people who are sick. I figure...why put yourself around someone who is sick if you don't have to? This is a little difficult with my College roommate. He's a great guy, and we get along well, so this is why I am asking this question here.

You see..my roommate loves to touch his face, his mouth, his eyes, his nose...and we all know that this is the easiest way to transmit germs. He seriously has been sick twice in less than a month, and I am convinced that he got sick by touching his face. And, also, he has this annoying habit where he'll take one of his fingers and rub it back and forth under his nose, therefore making a weird and EXTREMELY annoying mucus noise.

I want to somehow tell him a) that this noise is bothering me and b) he shouldn't touch his face as much, and he won't get sick as much. I know I am not his mother, but this is driving me crazy...

I read about a lady that claimed that she survived 9/11 but her fiancee didn't. They didn't have records of her working there. She said she had gone to some big college but they didnt have records of her either. Her family didnt even know she had a fiancee. She even said on her way out of the building a guy gave her his wedding ring and she returned it to his widow. She didnt do it for money. How could someone lie to everyone about something so huge? Do you think something should happen to her?

Have you ever felt attacked for expressing a simple point of view?

Did 14 people give you a "BAD RATING" when you foolishly said "I like apples."

Do some people need to take a chill-pill instead of using those thumbs down like a machine gun?

I hate my science teacher, she is SO mean and she always embarrass me and other ppl in public. I am trying to be a good student but she is still mean. When i ask her questions she is so careless and says: Well i don't know go do it yourself. She is really nice to this student named Winnie in my class. I think she is so biased. Once during national anthem she just stared at me in a strict and malicious way that makes me uncomfortable.

I am not the only one who dislike her. I told my mom and my mom told me that she will sue her if she continues to do that to me.

She yells alot, she is chinese. I am not being a racist bcuz me myself is asian but she is simply not helpful. She grew up in a small town so i guess yeah.

Then she went like"gosh there is one scissor missing" and its like right infront on her desk. and then she's like "If u guys don't find it u wont go to next class and you will all be late!"

then one student told her its like right there. and she's lyk "Oh ok"

This is a typical thing for someone to say to you when they first say you, and I usually just reply with a "Nothin." But I always feel like that's so...awkward and I dunno, I just was wondering what you say to someone when they say that...

I hate it when people don't return the shopping carts to the coral in the parking lots, they leave them to hit someones car cuz they are too lazy to put them back.

...and I just don't get the toilet seat thing...I understand lifting the seat but the whole thing about putting it down (I think) confuses me.

I work at a low-key motel where I am able to read, surf the internet, and do homework when not busy. The maintanance man likes to come and talk to me for a really long time when he sees that I'm reading or something. I have tried looking disinterested, getting back to my book, etc. He's a very nice man and I don't want to be rude, but sometimes he won't leave even when he sees that the conversation is dying! By the way, it's not like a good conversation that can be fun with your co-workers (I love talking with my other front desk co-workers). This man is much older and really has nothing to say, but likes to ramble a lot.

I've been to a certain sit down restaurant twice and both times I called in a take out order and went to pick up my food.

My food was already wrapped up in a bag ready to go. I gave them my money, but rather than handing me my change, they put my change on a tray and placed the tray on the counter. I was really puzzled by this until a friend told me they expected me to leave a tip.

This didn't make sense to me because no one waited on me, got me a drink, or any of the other things that are associated when you dine in at a restaurant. Furthermore, one of the times, my change was only 45 cents and I thought it would be insulting to leave someone a 45 cent tip on a $20 meal.

Are you supposed to tip when you call in a take out order at a sit down restaurant? If so, how much are you supposed to tip? I don't think it's fair to expect 15% when all they did was take my money, hand me the bag, and give me change.
