I read about a lady that claimed that she survived 9/11 but her fiancee didn't. They didn't have records of her working there. She said she had gone to some big college but they didnt have records of her either. Her family didnt even know she had a fiancee. She even said on her way out of the building a guy gave her his wedding ring and she returned it to his widow. She didnt do it for money. How could someone lie to everyone about something so huge? Do you think something should happen to her?

She is obviously very disturbed.

But she didn't get paid by the charity, nor did she apply for victim's funds, so what laws did she break?

Instead of suing her, she needs to get help.

I guess you mean should something happen to her, legally? No, I don't think anything should. If she lied about all these things, she did not attempt to profit from them. She was not paid for talking about her supposed experiences on 9/11. I would say this lady is seriously mentally ill, and needs help and treatment much more than condemnation.

This person may feel small and wants to claim some of the -- glory? sympathy? excitement? celebrity? -- pick the term you like -- of being a 9/11 survivor. She's made herself an identity so she can play that part.

It's rather sad. There are probably folks who admired her and respected her real self but she never knew it. She made up a false self when she didn't need to.

She will eventually have to answer to someone she won't be able to lie to and deal with his punishment that he chooses.
