I turned veggie around 20 yrs ago and have never regretted doing so. I am giving you the link to the Vegetarian Society of the UK...it is the oldest society of it's kind in the world and has lots of useful information on all aspects of being a veggie, plus it has some great recipes....just follow the links..
Good luck and have fun with your new lifestyle...

Maybe a first step would be to see a nutritionalist or dietician who can advise you of all the dietary needs you have. Depending on your age, you may need extra calcium, iron, protein, etc..... that might be hard to get without eating meat or dairy, so it's good to know what vegetarian food choices provide those things. It would be unfortunate if your bones and teeth did not get what they needed so you should perhaps have a professional guide you as you get started. Then you can pick and choose among the lists of foods they provide- things that you enjoy. Good luck.

How about a grilled panini sandwich using ciabatta or panini bread, pesto spread, roasted red peppers, feta cheese, marinated artichoke hearts and calamata olives?
My favorite vegetarian pizza is called "Go Nuts" and it's just pizza dough topped with alfredo sauce, blue cheese crumbles and walnuts. MMM!
I also love taco salad made with Fantastic vegetiarian Taco Filling instead of meat. It's great tossed with a little catalina dressing and topped with fritos.

Use tofu for filler in terms of meatlike dishes such as Lasagna. Try the vegi brands such as Morningstar, Boca, etc. Just be careful about the sodium. If you can, try to add fish because you can do a lot with tuna and salmon is really good for you.
