with all the @ everywhere instead of actually taking about 3 seconds to type at in its place YOU made the question very confusing.

so I'm assuming that you're complaining about people that don't tip well or don't tip at all when you go out to eat with them. or if they do tip its a very small amount. and mostly consists of change and in any event its annoying a heck. that why i prefer to order fast food before hand and then pick it up at the restaurant and then leave without having the need to feel like i should tip someone.

It has happened to me several times. I always covered the entire tip. I learned to talk about our share of the bill plus tip. That usually works. If I were on a date and my date paid, but didn't tip I would casually say " Oh, we forgot the tip". If he still didn't tip then I would and I wouldn't go out with such a cheap **@!%%^&& again!!!

OMG, I knew this loser in high school like that. He would always order pizza, but he would never tip the delivery guy. His reasoning was that the place was just around the corner, so he can easily get it himself, so why should he tip the deliverer... Is it just me or does that make no sense?!

BUt I totally agree, people who don't tip or losers and were probably spoiled.

I would make them aware by saying "wow that was good service, they deserve a good tip" and if they still don't get it maybe inform the person that servers make their money from tips and not from the restaurant!.... If they still don't tip, give the tip to the server directly (in front of el cheapo) and say I think you did a great job.

I hate that. First, I think it's rude NOT to tip. It's IS mandatory........whoever say it's not has never worked as a waitress/waiter before.

I think it's rude too, b/c its similar to not giving your fair share. Like if there meal was $10, and they only gave $5. Part of going out to eat is tipping.

If you don't believe in it, then don't go out to eat. If you can't afford it, the same.

There are lots of different "service charges" I get charged for. I've love to make them optional....but that's not possible.

Will it kill you to leave at least $5....NO.

I would not allow that. I add the tip to the total bill and divide it by the number of people there, unless someone has extraordinarily more or less food/drink than average. If everybody is about the same, we divide it up equally.

I think not tipping is rude. I had a friend who never left tips anywhere and I got infuriated with him and said something. I bought him one of those credit card looking tip charts and gave him examples of situations that you may want to tip more or less. I say it was worth the 5 cents.

I haven't actually ever been out with anyone at dinner or otherwise that didn't tip. If I knew someone well enough to know they didn't tip, I wouldn't go out with them.

It happened. Learn from this. Ask them about how they feel about tipping before going out with them.

well my first date was with this guy. i thought he was really sweet. he showered me with roses and lots of other flowers and even let me order the most expensive thing on the menu. then he walked out, and said, 'ill be in the car if you want to sort out the bill.'

i realised he wanted ME to pay the bill. i didnt pay, i wrote down the guy's name and address and fone number on a piece of paper and gave it to the till person, then walked out. i didnt go out with him again!!!

i hope he tipped. i dont think he believed in it though, either.
