A few years ago, a relative I never met passed away. The only thing she knew about me was that I was about her size, so she left me a mink fur coat. Then when my parents gave me a motorcycle, a friend of my mother's gave me a nice leather jacket. I'd like to sell them both, since I sold the motorcycle long ago in favor of a 4-wheeled car that I can actually control, and never once wore the fur coat and my husband and I are college kids that always need extra cash. But I can't sell them online or anything because PETA will lynch me if they know I *gasp!* own fur and leather, even though I don't want to own them. What should I do with the coats, or where can I sell them?

were a military family stationed in texas. i grew up in oklahoma. were moving to boston at the end of this month. i'm going home this week to spend some time with the family before we leave. there is one thing that really bothers me though. i'm not in any way perfect, but i uphold a certain standard for my guests. my home is always clean, theres always something in the oven, clean towels and individual soaps, shampoos, etc...for my guests. there is no nice way to put this, but.. my moms house is filthy. i mean really really dirty. i dont expect her to lay mints on my pillow or anything. it bothers so much to the point that i have turned down an overnight stay or two with her. i dont have the heart to tell her, but i have two toddlers that put everything in their mouth and that are really touchy. i really want to have a comfortable stay at her house when i visit. is there a nice way to ask someone to clean their house?

Yesterday my boyfriend and I were going to go out to lunch for his birthday. He came 2 hours later than I expected and when I asked for the reason he said he was soaking in the tub. I told him it was unacceptable to come so late and even though it was his birthday I wasn't going to go out with him because he kept me waiting and it wasn't the first time either. He apologized saying that I was the only person he wanted to see and now he had screwed it up. I talked with him about why I was angry and said because it was his birthday I would forgive him.
It was a tough call for me to make because on one hand I felt he disrespected my time and feelings. However I did not want his birthday to be ruined and his apology seemed genuine to me. I hope I made the right choice. I don't want this to become a habit in our relationship. What do you think I should have done?

My roommate is a self-professed "prude," while I'm somewhat more liberal. She doesn't want to change clothes in front of me, and I respect that. The problem is, she also doesn't want me to change in front of her. I'm forced to go into the bathroom or usually the tiny closet in our room to change, which is awkward to say the least. It's my opinion that I should get to change in open space and she can look away (her desk faces the wall anyway), but she doesn't like that idea either. I have no intention of switching roommates, but any other suggestions as to how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Can someone please tell me why our young people, and I mean alot of them are "real" young people, use such awful, foul, and offensive language these days? I am offended and ashamed of the way alot of the younger generation use slang terminology these days. What happened to respect? It's just shocking to hear kids these days talk about anything because the only way they seem to can communicate is in slang language. What a shame! What happen to self respect, and respect for others?

My 3 year old and I were in a department store today, and passed by a halloween display. He and I continued to talk about it as we were walking out. He said "Oooh spooky!" Problem was, we were passing several black ladies who gave me the dirtiest look. Should I tell my son that's a naughty word? We've never used that word in an ugly way, so when he said it it was in total innocence and wasn't talking about black people at all. Should I have tried to explain to the ladies, and risk bad turning to worse?

I am not allowed to see my girlfriend. My husband does not like her. I slipped away tonight to see her and told my husband I was going to church. I feel bad and hope that God is not mad at me. I only stayed on hour and was able to visit with her and her family. I had a good time.

The terrorists want to destroy our country and its unique way of life. How will you reflect or commemorate 9/11 in your own way? I will continue doing what I always do but will be thankful that I live here and that I contribute something positive. I will also silently thank our many great friends in this world. Your thoughts?

I have seen topics like this before. Teachers think that just because they have a teaching degree they are GOD. Well guess what there NOT I don't nor does anyone else really care if they " Did their Time''. I'm a student in 9th grade so I say if I have to follow the rules then GUESS WHAT SO SHOULD they! Who died and left them ruler of the universe? NOBODY ELSE GIVES A CRAP!

ps: We should be allowed to call our teachers whatever we want and they SHOULD always be in a WONDERFUL mood while I can be mean and irritable. My mom works in my school cafetira so i say just because of that I should be allowed teacher pridvlidges. Also Fire drills suck why the HELL have one if i already know how to exit the building? Teachers again are allowed to have there coats when its 32 below outside and freezing. Why cant they just tell me ahead of time so i can get my coat? I think only the princiapal should know NOBODY else should so we are really prepared.

I just noticed that I had two minor errors on a thank you letter I just sent out for a business school interview. I used the word "regards" where it should have been "regard" and put a common in the sentence "Thank you, I look forward to speaking with you in the future." where there should have been a period after you. How noticeable will these errors be and what kind of impact can they have? The rest of the letter was very well written. I actually gave it to an attorney at my firm and he didn't notice the errors. My interview didn't go as well as I had hoped so this letter was my chance to redeem myself. I think it was a good letter, but small things like that can be seen as sloppiness. To be honest, my grammar can use some work and these are issues that I would have not noticed, unless someone told me after the fact, which is what happened.

I mean you came early to church sit down, and pray and then 15 minutes into Holy Mass a family of 4 come in your pew, hit your legs and make you squirm and not pay attention to the Gospel that is being said.

Then, you have the ones that do their hair look at their nails, or watch, and fill out the envelope in one sitting, and leave early.

Mind you I do come in early, and leave last. I pray because I love God and give my whole attention to HIM. It's just an hour of my week. I won't distract anyone or make noise, and my cell phone is shut off, because I respect God, myself, and others. So tell me do you get offended when others act like boorish kids?

both batteries fell out. I could only find one, so I just put one back in there and gave it back to her. I was planning to tell her at the end of class about the battery, except I forgot. Now she starts off class today saying something along the lines of 'apparently one of you all has stolen one of the batteries, and I hope whoever stole it comes forward and gives it to me'. I didn't say anything the whole class about it and she cleary seems annoyed with the situation-what should I do?
